I agree you can, but I would point out that where you have that line drawn, you will be almost cutting it in half. It will be a LOT louder. You might want to consider removing 3-4 inches at first, not half.

Awesome man, that's some serious power.
Regarding gas in different countries. It's not only the gas, but the fact the bike is tuned from the factory to run best on your gas, so a map added on top of that should be made with the same setup.
Well, remember in the US the octane ratings on...
You also need to note that Ivan is in the U.S., so has created his maps with a U.S. spec bike, running U.S. gasoline. (As far as I know, I don't see any other way he could make it.)
Gas varies quite a bit around the world, so since you are in NZ I'd recommend getting a custom map made by...
If you watch it in full screen, seems like you can make out he's in "Trip A" mode on the odometer, so probably more than 300 total miles.
Any any rate, damn cool video. Wish I could find a road like that!
Ivan posted this on another forum; dyno speed readout on the dyno from a Gen2 with stock gearing.
Basically the bike hits rev limiter at 163.7mph.
If you can hit rev limiter in 6th that's how fast you're going; probably less due to tire slippage with all the wind resistance (which isn't...
Haha, I did the same thing! Thought I was getting too old for a sport bike, so bought a V-Max. Loved it, for about two weeks. By the time I managed to get rid of it 3 months later I hated the damn thing...
I agree with psittacid; this is my first ever bike with a centerstand, and I love it. I have a work stand, but man the centerstand is so much easier to use, and even lets you work on the front end, if you have someone sit on the bike lifting the front wheel up.
No way I'll ever remove it; hell...
It's hard to believe the alcohol would settle out of the fuel; what would keep that from happening in the storage tanks in the ground? You'd get all alcohol at first out of the tank.
I haven't researched this at all, just doesn't sound like it would make much sense to sell fuel that would...
I owned an '08 CBR600RR just before getting my '08 FZ1, so I have a pretty good idea how they feel for comparison.
Actually, the FZ1 has a very "600 like" powerband, and delivery, just sorta on steroids.
My FZ1 feels like taking my CBR and making it a lot more powerful, as compared to the '06...
^^^ Don't take this wrong, but do you have much riding experience? I've never heard of anyone "cruising in neutral" on a bike.
I can't imagine even trying to find neutral while moving, why would you want to do that?
I'm pretty sure I read someplace that the specs in the service manual are way wrong, and way high. Many folks have stripped them off trying to use that spec.
It's supposed to be more like 40, not 72 ft lbs. 72 is a way higher number for a bolt that small.
My and my step brother shared a Honda trail 70 in 3rd grade; it was unbreakable. Our favorite thing to do was pull a 2nd person behind it with a rope, on a big wheel, fast as we could and try to throw them off. :)
Not sure I'd say "less strict" when I was comparing 2010 to 2005. It's really maybe better to say the 2010 standard is going back to a "less stiff" helmet that results in lower G forces to the brain on most real-world impacts.
Here's some good info, Snell 2010 Standard - webBikeWorld
