rear sprocket torque spec

thanks

The Service Manual states: (Rear Wheel Sprocket) 100Nm, (10m.Kg, 72 ft. lbs.). Be sure to tighten in stages and in a criss cross patern !

Hey, thanks. I looked through the owners manual and all 8 pages of the tech section before posting. I have to go buy chiltons or clymer.

one note:

torque specs are given with NOTHING on the threads... if you have chain lube on the threads... it messes with torque specs... you'll strip those puppies right off...

The way I do it is by feel... you'll know when they're tight.

I'm pretty sure I read someplace that the specs in the service manual are way wrong, and way high. Many folks have stripped them off trying to use that spec.

It's supposed to be more like 40, not 72 ft lbs. 72 is a way higher number for a bolt that small.
