:ditto: on the stock seat being more neutral. I have had the Gel comfy seat and the Sargent
seat and both slid me into the tank. I am thinking of having my gel seat redone with a little more material upfront to try and level it out.
My Jeep Wrangler would do that as well, People at night would misjudge my distance. You learn not to trust anyone turning left or on the side streets, It sure does suck.
Had a moose confront me on a snowmobile trip. Once he looked away I hit the gas and never looked back. I think I left a trail of body fluids behind me.
Loved the area spent a lot of time down at the Alameda Creek and at Shadow Cliffs park as a teen. I had my first real job as a summer worker at the Alameda County fairgrounds maintenance department. I learned how to drive on one of those jeeps they used to pull the tram shuttles with.
Have fun...
Looks like a good find, I really like mine, I have an 06 Retro that has been modded for mid range power.
I am originally from NorCal born in Hayward raised in Fremont, I spent a little time in Pleasanton as well.
Have fun on your new bike and welcome to the forum.
I personally like the Springfield Armory XD has good safety features and a single action trigger pull. I shoot 45 ACP. If you are looking for a home defense weapon I use a 12 Gauge short barrel shotgun with low recoil double ought buckshot. And of course if there is a zombie invasion my Colt...
I bought my bike used and it didn't have a center stand. I actually bought one and installed it because the pavement gets so hot here in Utah that I have had bikes tip over on their side stands in it. The center stand gives a little piece of mind when parking on 100+ days. I agree with those...
You almost have to have been to Idaho to get it, Those farmers torture their TW200's to death. It seems as if there is one parked in front of nearly every house. They use them to run around and check on their irrigation. So the toughness of the rack is very important to these motorcycle...
The 2001 DRZ400s Utah High Desert Edition...
Installed IMS 4 Gallon gas tank, Moose skid plate, Thumper Talk side cover guards and tubular side crash bars.
Tried a few different setups, The freeways here in Utah will eat you alive if you are not on top of things. Had a biker die running into a mattress on the road just last week. I don't like having to hunt and peck for rear visibility it takes away from keeping my eyes on whats ahead of me. The...
Buy a high pressure radiator cap you can get one on ebay for 17.95 shipped, Helps keep the bike a little cooler for those trail rides. Bike is looking good.
I would replace them, You already have them out, So you are half way to replacing them. They are not built to take any kind of load other than radial. Any side load at all will damage them to some degree.
