Yea, I haven't exactly missed any riding. I've been riding the Super Duke to work and I did a track day at Laguna Seca on the Gixxer on Friday.
I do love the FZ1, though. If I could only have one street bike, I'd probably go with the FZ1.
But how can you just have one?
You gotta love HF.
I found with lead acid batteries leaving them on a Battery Tender extends the life quite a bit.
The Shorai LI battery is new to me, but so far has been working very well. I've had one in my GSXR for about a year now, used every few months or so. It fires right up...
We have seven vehicles requiring a total of eight batteries, the Battery load tester will pay for it self easily.
My guess is the aftermarket battery that was in the bike when I bought it sat for a long time and discharged. Also, the ground wire was loose when I bought the bike as well...
Thanks everyone for your input.
It does actually start now, but I certainly don't trust it enough to ride it anywhere.
I'm assuming I can take the battery to an Auto parts store and have them load test it.
Or get my own tester...
I've had good luck with a Shorai L.I. battery in my GSX-R...
Definitely NOT the original OEM battery.
Turned on but would not turn over at work.
Got it home and it fired up.
Battery tests:
12.34v ignition off
14.02v at idle
14.33v while revving
Could be, I just bought it a couple months ago. I had it on the Battery Tender all weekend, and I did check it with a voltmeter already (checked out fine). But if it's old....
My '07 has had a slightly fluctuating idle speed lately and stalled a couple times at stop lights.
On my way to work this morning it died once. It restarted and I cranked up the idle a bit then as I turned into work it just died. No lights, no motor, just dead. Turned the key off and on...
So my custom made servo unit ended up being unwilling to calibrate out properly.
So I zip tied the secondary throttle valve to hold them in the open position.
The initial "key on" sweep of the servo motor clicks the check engine (MIL) light on.
The bike runs amazing! It rips all the...
Here's the problem.
The FZ1 servo I need is "indefinitely back ordered" according to Yamaha. So I bought an R1 servo, took it apart, harvested the gear and it and it looks like it's a match.
This is from my mechanic:
"Yamaha is looking into it. According to their computer system, it isn't available, but is a valid part number. Also, the -10 IS NOT, according to Yamaha, a supersession of the -00. They don't know why or where the -10 number came from. They're gonna look into it and...
Does anyone know if 5VY-85850-00-00 is interchangeable with 5VY-85850-10-00?
My 2007 CA lists 5VY-85850-10-00 but the part is unavailable. I can find 5VY-85850-00-00 all day.
Thank you!
