Lowered my pegs

I know a lot of you change the rearsets to raise the pegs for cornering clearance but for me at my age the knee-dragging ship has sailed. I wanted more long ride comfort. I know you can get lowered pegs but I'm too cheap to go that route so I did some mods to the stockers. I used a dremel with a cut-off wheel to separate the shaft from the u-bracket and added a section of 1" x 3/16" cold-rolled steel. A little welding & grinding then a coat of black epoxy finished them off. I had to grind off the peg rivet to remove them and decided to re-use the rivet by tapping the bottom & using a 4mm SS bolt, now they're removable. The shift & brake had enough adjustment for the inch and an eighth that I lowered them. A less cramped ride now and with the forward pegs I added before, I could ride all day.
