Thanks for the comments. I'm very satisfyed with the signal indicators. I haven't forgotten to turn them off since I installed them.
I think I want to keep the stock parts in case I decide to sell or trade this bike someday. I can't imagine that happening right now, but it might. Who knows what...
Oh. Not much has happened with the Honda. I just got it last week. About all I've done is slide the fork tubes up about 3/4" and order the wrong lowering link. The correct link is on its way.
If I end up fabricating the rack, I'll take pictures and post them. I'm still open to finding something...
Thanks FZ1inNH. That's a good idea!
I've seen a lull working on the Fizzo for the last couple or three months. I'm still expecting a belly cowl, but it's been on backorder since early June. Makes more time for riding it. Someday the belly pan will arrive and it will be a big surprise!
I...
That's the exhaust gas. The valve is like a choke butterfly in the front of the stock muffler.
It is very simple. Much easier to look at and understand once you start taking it off. You'll see two cables attaching to the exhaust pipe at the front of the muffler. Those cables go up under the...
Do yourself a favor and put some Grip Puppies or Grab On grip covers on. They are foam covers that slip right over the stock grips and increase the diameter of the grips and make them much more soft and comfortable on your hands.
I went ahead and took the servo out and installed a 'Graves Motorsports EXUP Servo Eliminator. It is an electronic dodad that keeps the computer from freaking when the servo isn't there. If you don't use a servo eliminator, you need to leave the servo hooked up to the wiring harness.
It is a...
Yup, there's a lot of people who want custom made but Walmart prices. I've found that when I do cheap work for friends, they don't respect the work.
Anyway, here's how they look on the bike.
Thanks. I have a shop in what is loosely called my detached garage, though it has never had a vehicle parked in it. Part of what I do for food is build things. I just accumulated enough scoot to afford some machine tools 3 years ago, so that kind of work is fairly new to me — hence my inordinate...
I spent the day at the lathe with a bar of delrin and made some front axle sliders for my Fizzo.
The .71" diameter aluminum bar, drilled and threaded on both ends, goes through the axle and the sliders screw into the ends of the bar with 5/8" - 18 stainless hex cap bolts. I wanted to use 8mm...
I've been riding this bike for a couple of months. Tonight I decided to try a different setting on the rear suspension. It was set at the stock #3 click. I advanced it to the 5th click.
I'm probably a little heavier than the average FZ1 rider coming in at about 212 pounds currently. I figure...
I have a set of RedLine Engineering swivel series stands and they are really great. With a set, you can move your bike all over the shop to get it out of the way or turn it so you can get to things better.

I use the same thing I use in my parts cleaner. A mixture of mineral spirits paint thinner and transmission fluid. The Tranny fluid keeps the thinner from drying out and cracking my skin and maintains a lite coat of lubricant so they never get dry clean. Mix a small can of tranny fluid with a...
I've tried a Leo Vince SLB GP EVOII. I loved the way it looked but it was pretty loud even with the silencer. Without the silencer, it sounded bad-assed deep idling, but totally annoying inside my helmet revved up and cruising. I replaced that can with a Yoshi Carbon Fiber TRC slip on. Very deep...
I put aftermarket signal lights on mine, so I had to cut in and splice the new wires to the existing signal wires. I used small bullet connectors to connect the new lights to the Yamaha wiring, retaining the original connectors.
