A trick that we did at the track back in the day, was to spray brake cleaner on a rag, then buff the tire like you'd shine a shoe.
Then again, if your smooth, a little slip wont hurt.
Consider trying out some of the free maps on this and the other site.
Do they make the MOST HP? Maybe, maybe not. Is that what your after? Most of us value driveability as much as outright max power.
