    Gen 2 Oil Filler Plug

I'm thinking of replacing the stock oil filler plug on my Gen2 with an aftermarket item. Can anyone confirm the diameter / thread pitch for the plug, please?

    New MT10

I saw one outside my local Yamaha dealer and it looked pretty awesome (grey one). It seemed a bit taller/bigger than the FZ1S. I liked the fluoro yellow wheels! Think I'll keep my FZ1 for present though (I'm getting a new front tyre fitted ASAP). However, the new 700 Tracer does look good to...

    Akrapovic titanium can for FZ1

Hell, Yes! I found it a bit raucous without the baffle (just me - maybe too careful about it being noticed by Mr. Plod aka the police). But with the baffle in, it is stealthy and has a sexy soundtrack across the rev range.

    Akrapovic titanium can for FZ1

Some photos of my bike with Akrapovic titanium end can. Sweet?

Spotted, Black Naked in Adelaide Sth Australia

That FZ1N looks beautiful in black. Like you say, pretty bog standard and Michelin (probably) Pilot Road tyres. Looks clean as a whistle, as should be.

Lost my modding virginity- akro slip on.

That looks great. I fitted the titanium version and I am well pleased with it- great look and a sweet sound - and I think I can detect better performance across the rev range. Akrapovic quality is top notch. Modding is addictive, but also very satisfying. My next mods will be to fit Hel brake...

    Definately harassment!!!

Yes - I know what you mean, of course. I can hear bikes with loud pipes on the bypass a mile from my house (lovely sound). I love a fruity pipe (on a bike). And a small plate - you can see so much more of the back of the bike and the tyre. But with me I favour the stealth fighter approach.

    Definately harassment!!!

Hi, I've never been hassled on my bike by a policeman in the UK for quite a number of years. I think the secret may be that, overtly at least, I now appear to be a good law-abiding member of society, albeit on a motorcycle. I run an aftermarket licence plate holder, but the actual licence...

Generosity to a Fault or Genuine Moron

Yes - you did very well to stay so cool about it. And I'm glad the young chap wasn't hurt. But, there's no way I would lend my Fazer to anyone. Shakespeare wrote "Neither a lender nor a borrower be". It's lucky that the damage is superficial - The FZ1 is one tough cookie!

Harsh ride - Rear suspension settings / aftermarket units?

Thanks for the advice and suggestions. I'm going to try going softer on the rebound damping by two clicks and one notch softer on the spring and see if that improves matters.

Harsh ride - Rear suspension settings / aftermarket units?

Hi Y'All, Greetings from a moist UK. (Will it ever stop raining here this summer?) I am running the OE Yamaha rear shock on standard spring and damping settings, but find the ride to be harsh on the decaying roads we have here. Any suggestions on settings? Also, what is your opinion...

    Sport-touring tires

Sport Touring Tyres The argument from members is strong for the Pilot Road 2. I cannot comment on that tyre. However, I had a set of Bridgestone BT023s fitted at my last service and they have been excellent from day 1. Great stability and grip and they feel 'comfortable' over distance...

    Seat cowl

All - Thanks for the helpful advice and links. The Yamaha cover looks OK to me - I must admit I haven't heard of the 'retro kit' before - maybe it is something not available in the UK? Seth, the seat pad with red leather looks really good and it does look like a cowl. This is certainly an...

    Seat cowl

This is mainly for UK Forum members: I know that Copperdawgs in the USA do a couple of seat cowls for the FZ1S, but does anyone know of a company in the UK which produces a similar seat cowl for the FZ1S Fazer? Thanks!

    Snowbound!

Yes - Spring will be here soon. Conditions are not so bad over here in Britain - but we've also had a fair bit of snow, frost, etc. It seems to have been a long, dark winter, but hopefully we are over the worst. The roads here in North Tyneside are atrocious as a result of the recent weather...

    What's a little snow?

Great pics - reminds me of when I were a lad and used to run a bike through the winter. Not now, though! - I love my FZ1 too much to subject it to the rigours of British roads covered in salt and grit! Action Point - Must get a winter bike for next year! - A 250 trailie would be ideal!
