Although i took mine off to be coated the powder coating guy said the rubber boot would melt and the leaking grease would spoil the paint. I did look into purchasing a new knuckle/joint with the intention of replacing it but in the end i could not be bothered, less tinkering-more riding.
I never heard anything so ridiculous in all my life, well, apart from the old UK law of "window Tax" that is.
If your fairing was damaged beyond repair and the only affordable option was to fit an aftermarket EU approved headlight and indicators to get you back on the road, what the heck could...
I too have just fitted the Mivv Suono (italia exotica) and i am delighted with it. I would have preferred it in black but the price hike was out of my budget range, non the less it is a great sounding and fine looking piece of italian craftsmanship.
Well, i had to try it to see if all the positive feedback about this modification was true. I must admit i have worn out the adjusters on my forks trying to find a reasonably good setup, but alas it was not to be!
My first consideration was to have the OEM's reworked by Maxton suspension here...
I have just completed this conversion with the 07/08 setup.
I needed the forks, calipers, caliper 5mm spacers, (if keeping your fz1 rotors), front axle (use your existing wheel spacers), R1 Radial master cylinder and R1 braided lines 60cm longer than stock, the FZ1 lines are slightly...
Sounds very reasonable. Although i wanted too, i did not have the top triple clamp done as the rubber mounts for the bar risers have to be removed and they are difficult to impossible to do, unless you are better equipped than i am in the workshop department.
Same with the rear sets, the four...
Does sound more like fuel starvation than an air filter problem. I have had the exact same problem you describe, albeit not on my FZ1, as a result of a blocked fuel filter. Check my recent, or other posts re fuel line kinked. their is a sleeve covering the plastic fuel line so it may not be...
After riding through a couple of winters some parts had corroded. I thought i would try having them powder coated by a local firm to see how they turned out. so far i am very pleased with the results.
I also put in a number of parts for coating that had no corrosion just because i fancied to...
Decided to do this mod more to clean up the look and allow easier access to plugs although i was a bit fed up of the popping on deceleration.
Dropped the radiator forward after disconnecting the top hoses. The bottom radiator bracket is best removed from were it mounts on the cylinder head...
Its pretty straight forward. Just disconnect each cable at its junction, usually under the tank, pull them through the frame and route them down the side of the frame and reconnect them. Their is enough cable length to do this without any modifications.
Thanks to this forum i discovered that my gen 2 FZ1 had the kinked fuel hose problem. I am not sure if i had noticed any fuel starvation problems but i will test ride it later this week and see if i can notice any difference.
I think the original hose is too short and this is the cause of the...
