Decided to do this mod more to clean up the look and allow easier access to plugs although i was a bit fed up of the popping on deceleration.
Dropped the radiator forward after disconnecting the top hoses. The bottom radiator bracket is best removed from were it mounts on the cylinder head so theirs no danger of it accidentally pushing into the rad while it hangs. also disconnect the cable ties that hold the fan cables to the back of the fan housing to allow for a little more space.
Bolts for plates were slow to get out. although i have a very small ratchet it would not fit. I put some cloth between the teeth of a pair of mole grips once the bolts were loosened with an allen key and used this as a sort of ratchet without damaging the head of the bolts.
Was it worth the effort and cost?.... yes, definitely.
Now on with the next mod!!!
