New Yamaha Project???

Thanks Billy, me too. I was crushed when I found out the rotor was too big. The ID is 4mm to large. I double checked both EBC and Galfer. The one I have should fit. Oh well.

Once I get the rotor then I can fit the entire wheel and determine how much to trim the axle spacer.

Oh, and the new front wheel is about one pound lighter. I think the rear is at least a pound lighter too.

Nope. The actual measurement is 150mm!

I'm crushed. I've still have the rear wheel waiting to get on the bike.

Projects...

Well we got it figured out. The wheel I bought is not an FZ750 wheel, but a late FZ600 wheel. The FleaBay seller miss-listed it. So the correct part is not on order. I swear some day I'll get this thing done. Wait, it's a project bike it will never be completed.

The correct p/n is Galfer DF458W, not DF471W.

The silver lining is I think I'll be able to use my Yamaha R1 Blue Dot rear caliper as the diameter should match. I can ditch the fugly FJ600 one and match the front calipers.

FZ600 rear wheel mock up. Looks good! Time for bearings and rotor.

Houston we have another problem. The ID of the wheel bearings are too small. Shopping for new ones. 20mmx40mm. Ugh. The stock ones are 18mmx40mm. Ugh.

But, I found that with the new rotor I can use a Yamaha rear blue spot caliper to match the front calipers. But, I need new spacers. I wish I had a lathe.

Well I think I have a line on the correct bearing.

It's from the Netherlands and is an engine case bear from a Piaggio MP3 125. That's the three wheel scooter.

Gotta love forums.
