    Should I get a FZ1?

Should you get an FZ1?......Absolutely. Should you get and FZ1 as a first bike?......Absolutely not!!!! The FZ1 is not a beginners motorcycle. KLR 650 is an excellent suggestion for a man your size IMO. Have yo done a motorcycle safety course? If not do so. Be safe...have fun.

FDB Levers Installed on 2 FZ1s

I have no issue with the build quality. The feel, machining, fit, etc. are fine. It's just the color is fading slightly. If it gets bad enough I may get them powdercoated like someone suggested. As it is now, I don't think the color issue would even show on a pic if I posted it. I'm not...

FDB Levers Installed on 2 FZ1s

Guys, you're thinking wrong. Not only are my levers less than a month old and my bike stored inside always, I also live in Newfoundland. We have so much rain and fog we have to take Vitamin D suppliments. UV is not the issue.

FDB Levers Installed on 2 FZ1s

I've noticed that my black FDB's are actually turning a very dark shade of blue. Not too bad but will it get worse? We'll see.

    SW-Motech bag question

Anybody sporting these? I'm interested but I'd like some reviews from anybody who has them. The pics show the bags on an FZ8 which has a different tail section. Thanks. Parts & Accessories - FZ1OA Message Board

FDB Levers Installed on 2 FZ1s

Installed mine this weekend. No ride report yet due to weather but the install was easy and they look great. I suspect the shortys will take a little getting used to. The difference in the inside diameter of the stack and FDB bushing was extreme on mine. All in all, I'm happy.

    Conflicting Addictions

Oldschool is right, alot of overregulating in Canada. I envy US gun law. I'm in Canada and own a Sprngfield Armory SD 9mm Tactical, Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum, Maverick Defender pistol grip tactical 12 guage, Winchester 16 guage cooey single shot, Mossberg 12 guage pump and a 75 year old Lee...

FDB Levers Installed on 2 FZ1s

I just recieved mine in the mail and the bushing is in place but held there with a zip tie. It isn't a press fit, it would just fall out without the zip tie. Since I can't get a reply on what lube removed the anodizing what lube are you other guys using with good results, white lithium grease???

secondary throttle plate mods (mucked up screws)

I have this mod done for over a year now. I had the same issue with the Stanley screw driver...crap. Twisted the head off a brand new screw driver on the first screw. At least the screw wasn't damaged. Where would you buy a jewelers screw driver? The mod is easy with a good driver and lots...

    Service Manual

Opps, sorry guys. I thought there were rules in place to prohibit the sale of copyright material on e-bay. I figured it was legit and was trying to be helpful.

    Service Manual

I see your point. My manuals generally end up full of greasy finger prints for the same reason. For the cost I could print it onto 3-hole punched paper and put it in a big 3 inch binder.

    Service Manual

So I wanted a service manual. Chilton and Hayes only make an FZ1 up to 2005. The Yamaha one costs $135 Canadian, plus tax!!! Found this on E-Bay for $9.99 on CD. US shipping is free, only $2.30 to Canada. I'll let you know how it is after I get it. I e-mailed the guy and asked if it was a...

    CopperDawg and recent orders

I can't recall exactly how long but it wasn't more than three weeks. I live in Canada on an island so it may take a little longer to get to me. The time it took to get them was very reasonable. The reason I bought them instead of cutting is to have the option of going back to stock......even...
