Big difference for me too. No matter how much I adjusted the linkage, there was just enough slack that i had to almost lift my foot slightly off the peg for fast/firm shifts in full tuck.

If you can mount the fairing, you can mount the lights...you might be missing something. Heres a pic of the lights on and the fairing cut around them.

I have a 1st gen VMAX...would not recomend as a 2 up cruiser...its a pure bred hotrod, and you'll be riding it as hard as your FZ....plus you will only take so much from the stock seat. Plus, if you get one stock...you have to upgrade the suspension right away to ride 2 up. I have a '02 silver...

What color fairing/cowling are you looking for? Your price range will get you one that has rash or needs work. I bought one of those from that site for the $180...they were new and cheapest NEW around. You do not need the fairing c/cowl to run the headlights...just the bracket/stay...I run...

Where are you in south Florida? All my bikes are jetted, and they won't full choke start down here...1/4 or 1/2 choke is all that's needed. If the brass cover is still there, it wasn't jetted, those cover the mixture screws.
