I put a Street Bikes Unlimited adj. link on the rear, lowered it almost 3", then slid the forks up in the triple tree about 2" to try to get it balanced/level. As far as the kickstand, I cut the foot off of the stocker, cut 2 1/2" off of it and then Tig welded the footpad back on. Other than its...
New fz1 girl..................
Here's a pic of my wife with her new to her 2009 Granite/Raven FZ1. She moved up from a 2009 FZ6R. After riding my FZ1 a few times she decided she wanted one of her own. Shes got a lil over 500 miles on it and loves it.
I was just thinking about that, - even if it bolts to the subframe, it could be a diff. offset, or diff. length etc etc .............thanks for the reply.
Can anyone definitely confirm one way or another if the aftermarket exhaust hangers ( such as evotech, valter moto, etc ) are the same for a 2009 FZ1 and an FZ8 ?
I even asked the dealers selling them and they dont know ( ? ), best I could do is check the stock pass. peg mounts from yamaha...
The suspension lowering on the FZ6R uses an aluminum block to raise the mounting point of the rear shock, to effectively lower the rear of the bike, so it is not adjustable like a link. If I remember right it's lowered about 1.75 inches, I can check my maint. log to find out for sure. I keep...
2009 Pearl White FZ6R up for sale, bought brand new, has right around 4400 miles on it. Always garage kept, it is in immaculate condition - never even been in the rain - as mint as you will find.
Has Y.E.S. warranty until 3/2016
Bike has always been properly serviced/maintained - never one...
Anyone come up with or know of a slick set-up to add a tether/kill switch set-up to a 2009 FZ1 ???
Looking to add one to my bike for the dragstrip, and I'm sure I can come up with something but would like to get something really slick and keep the wire chopping to the minimum - plug & play...
My wife and I are both wearing EXO-700 helmets now, not sure about the diffs from the 500, but we are very happy with;
the fit/comfort ( we tried on before ordering to get best fit the 1st time )
windnoise/buffeting ( or lack of )
style/appearance
SNELL/DOT rated
got great prices on them...
Boy does that bring back memories................I bought one of those beautys brand new back in 1986 and it was absolute state of the art / cutting edge in its day. I cant believe that was already over 25 years ago!
Nice one you've got there.
Be more clear on how you say "lowering the forks in the triple clamps" - as that would actually raise the front of the bike , which will increase stability, and make the steering slower ( think chopper ).
Raising the forks in the clamps will lower the front of the bike, make it turn in...
That looks great, I would like to do similar, not so much for the extra room, but to get rid of the mushy/rubber on the pegs for a more solid feel.
THANKS!
THANK YOU!...............She gets compliments everywhere we go, most people think that we had the paint/graphics custom done, but it is a factory pearl white paint with the graphics. Being that we bought it new / leftover she tracked one down and it was almost an extra 150 miles to go get it...
Yup, the roaring toyz block and dropped the front to match.
Her first street bike was a Buell blast, and when she got her FZ6R she said it was like going from Ford Pinto to a Mustang ( I totally agree )............I kid her sometimes and say going from your FZ6R to an FZ 1 will be like going...
Glad to hear she likes it. My wife really liked the FZ6 too, but ended up with the FZ6R mostly because being barely 5'2", it just fit her better, and I also lowered it almost 2" F & R.
That and she really loves the Pearl white & the graphics on it...............you know how it goes, if she's...
