YZF Winter Spruce Up 2012

Aww, you noticed. I am lookin' for a Yami. . . . I have been eye'in a TMAX !! Fast, sporty, easy on the old knees and the aching back

Gary, I hope you find a nice TMax. I love the yellow ones. I'd love to hear the comparison to the Burgman 650. Don't they have a larger, newer TMax in Europe?

You are doing a great job. I wish I was as talented and ambitious as you. Keep it up (There's a viagra joke in there somewhere) and you'll be ready for a nice, wet spring ride in no time :poke: :doh2:

Okay. Big problems here today. I brought the forks here to work to try and work the caps loose and nothing doing. I had two guys hold the tube, along with a big strap wrench and still, the caps won't loosen! I don't want to knarl up the nuts. What should I do? I have to remove them to rebuild the forks. Any ideas?? I'm thinking to go to Harbor Freight and pick up a 24mm Impact socket and use the gun on them. Does that sound feasable?? Thanks.

Yeah impact is the way to go with most forks. Putting it back on, have to be a bit gentle.

make sure you use a 6 point socket very easy to tear up the caps.easiest way to remove them is slide them back in your triple trees and just tighten the pinch bolts on the bottom tree only this holds the fork firmly in place while you loosen the caps.
