A long time friend in Florida called me earlier today to tell me that his wife of almost three years (their anniversary is 2 days from now) passed away today in a motorcycle accident. Her best friend was with her. At first it seemed that he told me that they were riding together on separate bikes, but from the news article, it appears that Sarah was riding as a passenger with Diana. Diana had recently purchased a new Monster 1200. Prior to that she rode a BMW 1000RR. She was an experienced rider, having done multiple track days and events both on motorcycles and in Steve's Integra. She still owned her SV650S racebike, but hadn't been racing these past few years.

Diana was a Firefighter Paramedic and was serving with the Casselberry, Florida FD when I first met her (I had known Steve for many years before through a common love for the Acura Integra), and her department has recently been folded into the Seminole County, Florida FD. She was an Engineer Operator and drove a Rescue (ambulance).

I didn't know Sarah, but if she was anything like Diana - she was awesome too. From what I can gather via Facebook, Sarah was an ER nurse.

Thanks for letting me share, I'm kinda bummed out today ...

Just saw this and that is such horrible news! My prayers are with the families and friends. I lost an old neighborhood friend in exactly the same way.
