Bridgestone T30

Now I replaced the rear bridgestone Battle Wing with a T30 on the super Ten . I love it !! This bike flies through the corners. I had to drive 60 miles home in the pouring rain on the very first ride.
The Battle wings will be on come winter great snow and ice tire !!

Of course it's ok! :)

I think your trouble might be running 42 PSI at the front. Honda recommends 36 front, 42 rear for your ST much like my VFR. For me, 36 is perfect, any higher and it's skittish like you describe and any lower and it's lazy (in a nut shell).

Is there any particular reason why you run 42 at the front?

My manual calls for 42 for front and back and that's what ive always run em at .Shes a big girl THANKS DUSTIN !!

Ahh, my mistake! I must have found the spec for the ST1100! I guess you could try 40 front to see if you get some feel back since it's a much stiffer tire than Pilot Road or Road Attack from what I know

Ok guy here is the deal...I am running the corners wider than I have with any other tire . maybe these tires don't like the oil and chipped roads ?
Noticed them running wide also when coming off a pirelli Angel GT. Put it down to the bulbous profile and remembered how to get the original bt016 working which had a similar profile, turn in earlier and enjoy the smoother mid corner stability.
The T30 certainly isn't a scalpel at 9/10th+. Have found them stable and the front encourages carving rather than darting through corners.
All these observations are based on fz1 use though and a good friend on an FJR rated them not far above the bt023. He complained that the lazy turn-in was already bad enough on a big bike!

Edit : If 42 psi front tyre pressure is recommended, then fair enough.

The point I've been trying to make is that they work well on a FZ1; the ST1300 is a whole different kettle of fish.

And the rear with 2800 miles

The rear is just starting to get the flat spot in the middle.
I think i had trouble adjusting to these tires because they have so much tread when new( if that makes any sense ) once they wore down a little i was fine with them
When i met up with my Honda ST group 90% of them had this tire on the front and 40% had them on the rear 50% had car tires on the rear. The others had PR 4's

I will be the Guinea Pig for the GT's...installed a set 2 days ago on my FZ...ive heard various comments saying not to use these but they seem fine to me....bump absorbsion is great, turn in is fine...im no touchy feely expert who can feel 1lb. of air difference but these feel just as good as all the Pilot Road series ive run on the bike...i ride around 1,200 to 1,500 miles a month so i need maximum tire life..to me its worth trying them just to see if they last longer..i ride mostly curvy roads at a spirited pace...the last 2 rear PR4's lasted 5K miles so im using that as a comparison...

Thanks for the summary! Looking forward to your next tire review ;)

I think you summarized the T30 well! For the money, it's a hell of a bargain as well

I have been a little disappointed with the last two T30's I have run. I was told they should have longer lasting rubber than the 023 they replaced.

On the 023's I was getting between 10 and 11k on my rears and similar for the fronts.

The last two Rear T30's I have run I got 7500 and 8600. That is a big difference. I just put a new set of T30's front and back and will let you know what I get this next time around, but perhaps it is time to consider a different tire for commuting on.

The rear is relatively soft for a sport touring tyre but that's why so many people like them. It's still much better mileage wise than a Hypersport tyre.

I remember Bridgestone claiming improved rear tire life with the T30 vs the BT-023. The BT-023 was well known for being a long lasting tire so Klurejr's results are rather odd

Exactly, that is what I was told by the dealer when they 23 was discontinued... I am pretty gentle on them. I just ride to and from work for the most part on the freeway.

I wonder if I should be considering a different brand next time around. I did not realize it until after I bought and mounted these and input the data into my maintenance logs, then I noticed the actual mileage on the last two tires.
