this is my latest scoot a 1971 CB350. Is it a fun bike to ride? sure what isn't? Is it as fun to ride down a twisty mountain road as the FZ1 was? Nope, and it never will be.
I've had a cheap chinese wave rotor on my rear wheel for about 25,000 miles now. I have had no problems other than accelerated wear when using sintered pads. Works great with organic pads.
I've seen bikes with 10K miles in much worse condition then my FZ1 with over 100K miles. It's all about how well the owner maintained it. There is a gen 1 running around out west with over 200K miles.
I picked up an inexpensive 6 fuse block from an autoparts store a few years back and attached it to the plastic behind the battery with industrial velcro. It has worked well for these last few years.
Never been afraid to get my bikes dirty :)
words fail me..........
what is in a name
and right down the road I find the largest display I've ever seen of the ten comandments.
I just love the name of this mountain gap. It is an unpatroled twisty mountain road with a 55mph speed limit.
some of the higher stuff is a little chilly
I've sort of got a thing for old gas stations, and love the name of this town. The next town over is called Trust.

Sory if I came across a bit defensive. I guess I was just suprised. I think I'm done with street riding after this year, but I'm looking into a dual sport drobably a DRZ400 or XR650 so I'm not quiting the hobby all together just yet.
Every bike is a comprimise and while the Gen 1 may not be the perfect bike for you, it was for me for many years. Ive owned many bikes both larger and smaller from 250cc-1300cc and during the time I owned this bike I never wished for a larger or smaller bike. I'm sure Y'all are just trying to be...
I feel like I found the best of both worlds. First I cut down the seat to get the shape I wanted and then added abou 3/4" of medium density memory foam to the drivers section tapering it evenly into the existing foam front and back and where it met the seat pan. Since I wrapped the foam around...
I felt like I had finaly found the perfect bike for the kind of riding I did.
It handdled well enough for knee down fun, and was comfortable enough to do it all day. My average Sunday consisted of 4-600 miles of twisty mountain roads. For a true sport tourer I don't think there is a better...
I have used and kept records of more than 30 different tires over the last 8 years. 3,000 miles is the average.
A couple of tires have lasted as long as 7,000 miles but sacrifice traction and I ride for fun. Others have been done in as little as 1,000 miles. (PP race soft)
even sport touring...
looks like it will be another 25,000 mile year (24,100 so far this year) that's been my average for about the last 5 years with a high of 27,300 last year.
I also average only 3,000 miles to a set of tires
That breaks down to nearly $14,000 just in gas and tires over the last 4 years.
Man...
I think I'm done with street riding too.
I logged 25,000 miles a year for the last 4 years and having my life endangered by bad driving dosen't even make me angry anymore. It happens almost every day. Some times 3-4 times a day. I will begin selling off my accessories this month and will not be...
