Using Motovation sliders. "Tested" a set by low-siding an SV650 at the track. Had plenty of confidence but ran out of talent.... But seriously they held up VERY well. Took most of the damage. I'm scheduled back at the Streets of Willow Springs in April!
Ouch....
I just dropped my windscreen in the garage when cleaning the bike after a track day. Aaaaarrrrrgg!!! Did some really bad things.... Willing to help a guy out with an OEM replacement? =) Let me know what you'd charge to ship to Canoga Park, CA - 91304. Thanks.
I wouldn't say owning two of the same bike is stupid... but if you're going to own, maintain, register, and insure two bikes, why not diverge into another niche, (i.e., dual sport, bagger, etc...) or engine layout, (i.e., thumper, v-twin, triple...)? "Naked sport standard" is too much different...
A Cali Thing?....
I see the head pat for cops pretty regularly in LA. However on a Route 66 trip (highly recommended), I saw two other options further out east. 1) Flashing headlights. 2) Index finger pointed straight up with hand spinning in a circle - think whoop-de-doo.... I guess that's...
Gremlin Bell Thread REVIVED!!!
I hear they keep bad things from happening to your bike. Which explains why you'd need one (or five...) on a Harley. Eh-hem.... I think the FZ1 is good, so I put one under my bed instead. Certainly don't want anything fallin' of while I'm shackin' up!
For riders with multiple bikes and/or friends not smart enough to own a FZ1! Just thought I'd put it out there. :hook2: I can't be the only one on the forum with more than one bike in the shed....
Came off a 2006 F4i bought brand new and came off the bike with less than 1,000 miles on it. Sold the bike (with an aftermarket screen on it) in 2009. Been in a box in a garage since it came off the bike, so it's in great shape. Asking $40 shipped anywhere in the US lower 48-states. Shipping...
Don't forget the extra chain lube required after a gully washer. Had a buddy who trashed his riding too much in the rain w/no post-ride love.
And what's up with the water peeling off the BACK half of your helmet visor when you look over your shoulder?....
There's another thread on the forum about using Kawasaki mirrors. I'm not the original author but DEFINITELY benefitted. Do a search for "ZX6R Mirror Mod" to find it, see some pics, and get the low-down. And post some pics when you make your final choice!
Not so that I've really noticed, but then I haven't been on any 300 mile rides. I've also done the stainless steel washer mod and the pegs feel solid - which I definitely prefer. Did a short canyon run yesterday afternoon and the vague peg feeling is gone!
Verdict - 1/4" Drill!!!
Finally got around to the project. The dremel approach is a little sketchy unless you've got surgeon-like hand stability. A 1/4" drill bit pushed from the bottom worked flawlessly and if done straight will even push the pin out.
BTW - These are Protek Slash Cut...
Thanks to all!!!!
Thanks for the help. I figured there would be power tools involved but was really hoping for a "go-go gadget" trick that only Yamaha propeller-heads know. So dremel it is!
The pegs just shipped, so if you are a Yamaha propeller-head, chime in! There's still time. I'll...
I ordered a replacement set of all metal footpegs for my '07. Can't stand the look or feel of the Nerf OEM pegs.... Anyway, they are supposed to be a straight replacement for the pegs using the existing OEM rearsets. Here's the problem that I'm hoping someone has found a simple/easy solution...
