Only down side I can see to putting EXUP back on is that at some point it will "clank" at idle-ish rpm's. Otherwise, we've done several mods to our 2005 FZ1 (Holeshot hi-pipe, carb kit, timing advance, etc.) and have left that in place. .

FWIW at this point... We did a HoleShot full jet kit (along with air-injection removal), and HoleShot high-pipe, and Holeshot timing advance (which lets you still use regular octane). We followed the supplied chart recommendations for altitude-vs-jetting. Very happy with the results...

We recently had the same prob on her 2005 FZ1, also with oil filled to proper levels in sight glass. She bought an extended warranty, so I made the dealership change the sending unit under warranty. Problem gone! :) For a while, I was worried it may be an oil pressure problem, but...

Had a chance to ride the FZ1 yesterday with the ss washer mod.... ...OMG ! ! ! BIG difference! Soo much more stable in the corners, and is also less 'twichy' on the freeway (forks lowered). .

I did the rubberized washer-flip thing last night on the GF's 2005 Gen-I FZ1. It made a big difference right away! Yes, there's still a bit of flex, but no where near as much. I'll be off to buy some washers after work today, hope those work on the Gen-I's! Does the FZ6 footpeg...

I know this is under Gen-II mods, but does the footpeg rubber replacement also work on Gen-I's? Are Gen-I and Gen-II stock pegs the same? :confused0024: I'd love to replace my sooper-squishy ribbed rubbers for something else! .
