I'm on my third assembly, going ok so far. The dealership figured there was a bad batch of castings, maybe the stock of those '12 pieces is done and the problem is solved. Talk to wherever you bought it. Even if it's off warranty they might fix it if it was a known problem.
2-Strokes were very reliable. They would reliably break down every 3 months!
Seriously, though, 2-strokes did require frequent rebuilds, but a top end job is way easier than a valve adjustment on an FZ1. I know guys that carry top ends for their 2-stroke snowmobiles in their backpacks. They can...
To all of my fellow Canadians on the site, happy Canada Day! I got a quick ride in today, and now I'm settling in to some of Canada's best beer (Keith's) and BBQ beef (AAA Alberta Strip Loins). I hope you are all enjoying this holiday as much as I am. Cheers!

I doubt the poor old rafters in my garage would take that kind of weight. As it is the strap is just for balance; most of the weight is on the centre stand. Sounds like a cool setup, though. I would go for that.
Bought the proper tools this morning and went at it. I put a lot of miles on, so everything had been off not too long ago. The front axle was a touch tight but it came free without too much trouble. With the wheels off, I figured it was a good chance to degrease the axles and associated parts...
