Dustin's Official 2014 Trip Report Thread

Great job on the pictures, bet it's nice to be off the bike today. The VFR and a scooter? You must have felt at home :)

Living the high life in Texas, good on you Dustin!

I totally didn't even notice the scooter at the time but yeah!

It's good to be off the bike, I'm hoping I'll be refreshed and ready to go on Monday morning

VERY nice to meet you guys too!

And yes, Hail, my ride back was uneventful. I think I got out just in time - there was some traffic, but nothing I couldn't handle.

Thanks for posting the pics, Dustin! Have fun at the races!

(Yeah, we do have nice folks here on the forum.)

Long day at the track today. I shot lots of photos but it will take some time to post everything up here. I will get a couple choice ones up now to tease you guys

That concludes MotoGP! Tomorrow I head back and my spot will be active again. I won't post many photos because I don't want to spoil the race but here are a few

good travels

Have a great ride back. Don't hurry so much you don't have time to stop and smell the roses.
I watched the races, so no spoilers for me. Did you get any shots of the corner carnage?

Peter needs to get home in 5 days so we'll bust it across Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. We will split up at Bakersfield and I will continue on my own in California. :)

I'm in West El Paso after a day of killer wind, blinding monsoon rain, hail and lightning. Nearly 600 miles behind us today and tomorrow we head for West Phoenix!

Yep, weather this morning in Central Texas was not very good....cold wind, rain, hail, and lightning. It'll be another boring day to get to Phoenix....miles and miles of I-10.

I hope Doug isn't too disappointed with you Dustin.....
I didn't see any pics of the umbrella girls, I know he wanted to see the latest fashions from this year :innocent:

so...

Just like a fall day in Vancouver then. It sounds like my trip home from Winnipeg the summer before last. It's an adventure.

Glad you made it through safely.

Brutal weather today huh? I was thinking of the both of you today. I think you went the correct way to punch through the cold front by going due west. We went north and fought the rain from Austin until Waco ~110 miles, and wicked winds all the way to OKC. Ugh. My car with trailer, bike and family got about 12 mpg! I typically tow and get 19. Sorry we were not able to meet. My schedule kept me hoping this year. I had an interview, two runs to the airport to pick family up, visit the rent houses, and visit store fronts (more on that later).

Regardless, ride safe and don't push it too hard. Sounds like you had an epic adventure!
