What did you do to your Non-FZ1 motorcycle today.

I forgot to add that it shifts smoothe as silk. Fortunately with the gear indicator I knew I actually did change gears. Half the time I could not tell by feel. I am so used to CLUNKING in to gears!

Nice bike! Almost got one myself until my local dealer at that time ( Waco) went out of business. Crawford was part of my ole stomping grounds until I moved to Graham. Sometimes wished I'd gotten the Tiger instead of the Tenere because its about 100 pounds lighter. I've owned three Triumphs with no issues, so the Tiger should serve you well, enjoy!

Brad, don't look too hard at the turn signals or they'll break! My Aprilia has the exact same ones. I've been through about 4 of them in 18 months. Unlike Aprilia Triumph has had a recall on them. AF1 Racing is now selling the turn signal stalks for about $6.00 a pair.

Went for Another Nice Ride

I went on a nice little ride this morning.

I left home around 7:00 AM just as the sun was coming up. My first stop was ~30 miles north of home in Conroe at the Pie in the Sky Bakery. I enjoyed a most excellent vegetable quiche with some ham and bacon slapped on along with some fresh fruit.

Cool little place with great food and pie!

Next stop was Sam Houston National forest. I actually found a few gravel roads to go down. I felt just as comfortable on the gravel as I do on the DRZ but that is likely because I have been getting more experience with it lately.

134 miles this morning on a perfect morning. I will need my first service next weekend.

I raised the rear seat about an inch today and was much more comfortable. First bike I have seen that has two height adjustments built in. Very cool. Also found out I have a fuel consumption & average speed readouts on the display. Very cool!

OK Brad, I'm sorry to jump in late. I'm not sure I can decipher all the previous posts. I'm liking the Tiger a lot. Very nice choice. I'm curious if you considered the KTM, BMW or Yamaha Super Tenere and what tipped the Tiger over the edge. :woot:

Do you still have the VFR 800? I'm sure it's been mentioned, but digging through older posts can just make things more confusing for me sometimes. : oops:

Congrats on the Tiger. I would love an adventure bike! :cheerleader:

Pete, I agree, the hanger is sweet and I'm not sure what to think about the frame plugs. They seem a little out of place and don't quite flow. I'd have to see a wider picture of the entire bike, and maybe ride it a few 1000 miles to be sure. Let me know when you want me to take the Tuono out, just to help you decide!

Hehehe. Sure come on over and take her for a spin.

I think the frame plugs are coming off, you're right they just don't flow.

I did order an RG tidy tail yesterday from Twisted Throttle. Her rearend will be nice and tight now. :)

VFR is up for sale.

I considered the BMW and KTM. I like the BMW styling but it was $3,000 more than the Tiger (MSRP) with no added benefit other than reputation. I like the KTM 990 but I don't think i would be as comfortable on it. The Tenere was just way too expensive.

All that and the fact I found a 2013 Tiger used with 57 miles on the ODO for $2,500 under MSRP. Even more if you take in to account the factory engine guards and center stand. When I saw this deal pop up I had to jump on it. :D ..... Besides it was 2012 adventure bike of the year! Lol
