The parrot is long gone, but the problem with the fairing is the top two fasteners failed allowing it to go back onto the headers, burning two half moons out of it, so the cross member is very thin & also misshaped. It really needs replacement. I always slow down when approaching a grain silo as...
I have the lower fairings on my bike & after a collision with a suicidal parrot I noticed the small fairing in front of the headers was broken. Can any one tell me where I can buy a new one from? My local dealer has no spares list for the lower fairings, he couldn't even tell me the top fastener...
I was thinking to try some wing mirrors with the in built indicator, & forget the others, anyone tried it? I also found that on the OEM indicator, if you zip tie the two rubber ears together & spray with silicone, they re-fit much easier.
Thank you for the advice, I don't think the fuel line is kinked as the tank has not been raised for some time & the previous owner has zip tied a stiff rubber sheath around the fuel line. I will check the other points out. Regards.
PS no codes showing.
On my ride out last Sunday the engine would hesitate as though the kill switch was being flicked. It was always between 6&7k revs, above & below that it was fine. Has anyone else had this problem, or could tell me where to start. It is an '06 with 40,000ks on the clock & an FCE unit only. Thanks...
My Gen 2 has a problem when I first start the bike on the stand to warm it up. The ECM light stays on, it runs very rough, seems to be hunting, & after a few minutes it cuts out. I restart with a bit of throttle, but it does the same thing again. One more start & stop then I mount up & go. The...
I have always used Michelin pilot roads, but thought I'd try the Roadsmarts for a change. As I fit them myself, the first thing I found was they were so much tighter to get on the rim, it was a bit of a mission but I did it after I modified the mount bar. This also made it easier to blow the...
Does anyone know a part number for the long bolt that holds the top of of the lower fairing to the bikini fairing. I think it is M6 x 30-35 thereabouts, but the lower fairing has a spacer which is why it requires a longer bolt. The local Yam dealer does not have a micro fiche or any other...
Thanks for that, I will try & get to the shop with a tape. I was thinking to buy '10 R1 lower tubes, fit them to my forks, fit the radial calipers & a cartridge then I'd be good to go, but depends on how the costs work out.
If you are serious & need to change a few, No Mar is the way to go. I bought all the tools & clamps from them & made my own stand, due to the cost of shipping to Oz. It is almost impossible to scratch the rims with their equipment, & once you have changed a few it is really easy.
Any one know of a front indicator that is small enough to fit through the hole in the full fairing. So as to save pulling the OEM indicator apart every time I need to remove the lower fairing? Thanks in advance.
