Cold starting

My Gen 2 has a problem when I first start the bike on the stand to warm it up. The ECM light stays on, it runs very rough, seems to be hunting, & after a few minutes it cuts out. I restart with a bit of throttle, but it does the same thing again. One more start & stop then I mount up & go. The bike runs perfect, & after a kilometre the ECM light goes out, no more problems for the rest of the day. Can any one suggest a cure or what to check? Thanks in advance.
 
Hi. Do you have an fce fitted ? I understand these can bring the eml on when cold starting, . I would suspect the cold start plunger is stuck causing the motor to stall , this can be found under the air box in the centre of the throttle bodies , has a water pipe either side of it, will need removing to strip & clean ,, easy enough to do
