SCORE!! FZ's new roommate

I have had the urge for something vintage and have been going back and forth on what i want,2 stroke, enduro, scooter. So being the craigslist whore that I am been watching areas all around until that special sumthin caught my eye.I looked at quite a few bikes in the last couple weeks and finally came upon the right machine.....1989 ZX10 Ninja. She needs some tlc like fork rebuild serious cleaning had been sitting in a barn for about 1 1/2 years battery is stone dead ,tires which I have a good front Avon to put on.I have gotten enuff juice on the battery to crank her over and fire momentarily but will probably have to pull the carbs.31k on the odometer but the bike is complete some cracks and minor rash from what appears to be a parking lot or lowspeed tip over. I did snap some pics as I rolled her in the garage last nite but was to tired to post I will get them up this morning some time as I am anxious to get into the bike

I hope you didn't pay a lot. Seems like a good restoration project

Back in "The Day", 1986 or so, I was getting my road racing license. Most of us students had older 1970's bikes. I was riding an '76 RD400. Lots of GPz550s, a few "Mini-cepters" - Intercepter 500s. Then there was "The Guy" from New Mexico who showed up with the then new Ninja 1000. "Oooooooo, Ahhhhhhh" The night before it had rain all day (pun intended) and the infield of the track was all mud. Most of us ran at a sane pace for school because we wanted to race for real the next day. Well...Mr. Ninja had to be the bad ass and show us all how fast his bike was. It was so fast that he ran off about 3 to 4 times and ended up with body work pack full of Colorado mud. :disapproval:

Ride sane my friend.

Oh, cool bike.

I had a z10 from 1995 until 2010 put 119,000 kms on the bike in total had 175,000kms. sold the old girl for a 1,000. good bike , easy to work on. would love to see pictures.
