RZ 350 Kenny Roberts Edition

That tank is pretty nice Gary. Can't believe it even has the factory info stickers on it yet.

I would definitely remove the petcock so you can assess it's condition and clean the inside of the tank really well. Only way you'll really get all the gunk out is if you remove the petcock. Might not be a bad idea to rebuild it as well (if they sell a rebuilding kit). I would imagine after all these years the gaskets and o-rings are not in the best shape.

Thanks Tony, yeah, all the factory warning stickers are still on the RZ to my knowledge. They are ledgable too. Couple of them have frayed edges but still look pretty darn good.
I tried to get the mounting screws loose that secure the petcock to the tank and they wouldn't budge. Today, I am going to see if replacement gasket(s) for it are still available before, , I "TAKE IT APART" . . .. heh,heh : oops:

Addition . . .the RZ today

Well, I didn't get to work on the RZ other than to move the parts over some to make room for my latest addition. I picked up a sweet, low mileage, 2008 Burgman 650 today. I just SOLD one of the Helix's (the 1995 one) and, I had been keeping my eye on this BLACK beauty. I saw it a few days ago, just down the road from me. Just popped up for sale. Original owner. Stored inside. I had a Burgie before. (a silver 2003 model) and, , , ohh yeah, , , I LIKE the maxi-scooter's too. I made an offer on it tonight, and I'll post up some pics of it soon. Perhaps tomorrow if I get the chance.

It has the oversized GIVI touring windshield already on it, along with a GIVI matching top-box (w/lights) mounted on the back. I also got the original windshield, and the bike cover. w00t !!!

The RZ today. . .. NOT !! /New arrival

Here are a few pics of Ingrid (Burgman).
I washed and dried her today. She needs some more detailing as the PO was elderly and could not properly keep her spotlessly clean. Some rust on the chrome shocks, and the rims too. Nothing awful or nasty. Just needs a good detail/polish. That's ME ! That's what I like to do. !! eh? Billy ? heh,heh
It's a Florida bike. Bought there, and kept there, until this winter when he brought it here.

I am not a fan of the FLAT black paint on the GIVI box. I will get it painted if I keep it. I already have a local guy wanting to BUY it . . . . w00t !!

Ohh yeah , , ,, I plan to check on the RZ later this week and see if they are progressing at all . . . .. :looseit:

Nice addition. I can't say I'm a fan of the ginormous shield, but looks good otherwise. :fencers: Not a T-Max, but close. Do I have to buy a T-Max to ride with you now? I wonder if I could find a cheap Zuma 125 somewhere. They look fun from that Dragon video :D

Did that guy ever call you back about the FZ1? I'd hate to see you sell it, but I understand.

The RZ today

Well, I got the RZ tank cleaned inside and out today. The petcock is free and clear and is operating perfectly, with great flow and the cleaning solution came out clean and clear. NO rust, gunk, dirt or crap of any kind to be found . . . . that's sweet.

Next, the outside got a good, deep, cleaning with the 3M rubbing compound, then, two coats of 3M Cleaner/Wax. She is lookin' very spiffy now . . . ! :smoking:

Next, I'll be addressing the footrest assemblies, the pegs, and the rear inner fender's. Once I get the bike back from the shop next week, I'll have a little more to work on, and clean on . . .. then, I can start to reassemble some of the pieces and parts .. . . :woot:

Thanks Troy! Yeah, I like the Burgman 650's. This is my second one actually. I had a 2003 a couple of year's ago. It was Silver and also had the ginormous GIVI windshield on it. Those HUGE shield's do BLOCK the wind. ALL of the wind !! heh, heh,

Have no fear, , , I still have the FZ for those more 'spirited' rides. . . hee, hee,

And yes, , , YOU would look great on a Tmax. I bet they are a freakin' blast to zip-around town on !! Lighter in weight, more aerodynamic, better mileage, , ,, I would look great on a Tmax too !

My bad . . ..

OK,, OK, , , My bad, , ,, CDI unit maybe? I think? anyway, they are testing that now. It is not getting a spark. Lights work, horn works, but no fire to the plugs.

Yesterday, while it was on the lift, I tried to kick it over for them and my bum knee absolutely does NOT like me jamming it down on the lever !! ouch. Now what . . .?! No elec. starter either. . . . . Mmmmmhhhhhh, , , ouch Anyway, the stator checked out good as did all the connections. Mmmhhhh. ..

I hope to get it back soon, but now I am wondering if I can even start it to get it running . . . .?

Anyway, you guys are right, , , ECU (where did I get that ?) heh, heh, it's a Black/Box thingy and it appears to be inop. They are trying to test it before finding a replacement part.

The carbs are free !! I was trying to kick it over while standing next to it and the throttle moved, opening the slides !! That's a plus . . . . !!

Here are a couple of pics of the last remaining parts that I cleaned and polished on Sunday. . . . :icon_beer:
