RZ 350 Kenny Roberts Edition

RZ today

The RZ350 . . . . .
I have been pondering . . . the bike has been in the "shop" for weeks now. . .
It still isn't running and they haven't really done much so far . . . ..
I will check on it this Thursday (they are closed on Wednesday's) and if it still is at a relative standstill, I will return Friday with my trailer and pay the bill up and then bring her home. . . .
I can tinker with it in my shop and muddle my way through with the help of the internet and, some of the more knowledgable people here on the forum.. . !

Now Billy , , , don't try to talk me out of it . . . . heh,heh

Not on your life! I would have gotten the bike back already. You have way more patience than I do. It doesn't seem as though they made you anywhere near "priority". Get her home, order a used CDI, and get that baby back together!!

Make sure the simple stuff checks out first like the kickstand switch , neutral and clutch switches.

HEY !! I forgot about the clutch switch !! We checked the kick-start pedal switch and the kickstand one too, but we forgot about the clutch lever. I would think it would be in neutral, , , , but, hey, I didn't check that one either. thanks googan !!:doh2:
And yes, I am watching ebay just in case I have to get one. The banshee ones might be plug and play. Still looking at the compatiblity of those. . .. ;)
 
RZ progress . . . . :(

Well, when I got to the MC shop today. The RZ hasn't been touched and still isn't running. . . . ..

The only mechanic was telling me that the owner's mother had passed and that he had been the only person to work in the dealership since my last visit. So, of course, he was swamped, while trying to do it all . . . .. Doing the showroom, answering the phone, ordering parts, , , yada, yada, yada, so, I told him thanks and that I would be back with my trailer on Tuesday to pick up the RZ. They are going to be closed Monday for the funeral. :dontknow:

The RZ is coming home . . . .. . ! :surrender:
 
I will say you left it there longer than i would have. I got excited that this was going to be the Gary got it home update, not its been untouched update.sorry to hear that bud.

The RZ350 today . . . .

AwwRight , , ,, let the fiddling begin, , ,, , maybe. I brought the RZ home today !!! I just got tired of the excuses.
However, after limping around the house the last few days (dang sore knee), I am pondering the thought of putting the RZ up for-sale. :poke:

I have the throttle and the carbs working great. Movement wise anyway.
The tires hold air !! But, they need replaced. The battery is missing. And, the big one, NO spark. The shop did test the stator and the coil. Both are fine.

The chain and rear sprocket cleaned up really good but probably should be replaced.

So, should I go ahead and replace the parts and maybe the CDI and get her running before I sell her, , , , or should I let the next owner do the honor's ?

Don't say that buddy! Come on! Pick up the CDI and get that bad boy started! If not I'll see if Tony wants to take the trailer and make a "road trip" to pick her up! We'd have that bike running in no time! Don't give up the ship now after all that cleaning you've done already! Heck! I went 12 weeks in a tiny garage! You have a "Garage Mahal" over there to work in! Don't :surrender:
