I brought up the inside dash cover and one of the "mid" panels to get cleaned up. Thank God they weren't as dirty as all the rest which made things much more pleasant. Here are the "Before" shots:
This is the inner piece from the "mid" panel:
Here is the "mid" panel itself:
One nice thing that I found out today, is that the front turn signals ARE NOT drilled through which is great because now I can just buy a set of originals and pop them back in!
This is the outside of the panel. I have to say that those scratches are really going to bother me once the bike is back together. I'm not in the position for paint, and I don't want to put any decals on the bodywork so I guess I'll have to live with it.....for a while at least.
A closeup of the scratches.
The inner dash panel had a ton of grime on one side only, not sure why?
And now for the "After" shots..............
The inner piece:
The inner dash piece....
The mid panel all cleaned up....
And now all back together with the inner panel installed....
I may or may not try and use a touch-up paint marker on the black to "mask" some of the bigger scratches. If I go very lightly I could probably lessen the horrible sight you see. I'll pick one up this weekend and try it out. It can't make it any worse!
