Don't ya just love knowing when your goodies are arriving?! It's like Christmas in March!! I hope they get to you soon as I am starving for photos!

Well, Partshark came through a lot sooner than tracking said. Box arrived this morning with two orders inside! Nuts, bolts, foam parts, emblems, and of course, the Dupont chain wax. Now I am really bummed the painter was delayed. I could have been out there now building the bike! Argh!!! But, at least now I am ready!

Here's all four sides of the Soupy adjustable kickstand. VERY light and quite substantial!

I think you guys just motivated me to get the YZF1000 back together today and fire her up. Hey I can't have both bikes down at once.

Oh and my brother calls me yesterday and says that a friend of his has an '01 Ducati 996 with only 4k miles and he's looking to get rid of it cheap...must resist...lol

We're having snow, sleet, rain and hail. It changes every time I look out the window!

Glad you got it Billy! Let's see the before and after shots for that thing! Sweet!

Tony, if it was as nice as yesterday, I'd be out on my bike today!

Update: Still no paint!!!

He's going to attempt the test panel tomorrow and hope the sun is out for her to pick between the two variations while she is out for lunch tomorrow. So, it looks like NEXT week.

If the weather was better, I'd be all over him to get this done but we're still not able to get out and ride up here yet. Still mid 20's in the morning, still run-off from mounds of snow that freeze in the roads at various places.... So, we're not in a hurry yet. But give it next week and if I'm not wrenching on April 2nd or sooner, I'm going to get quite upset with the guy. He's had the stuff long enough!

Ok, I applied a bit of tactful non-feather-ruffling pressure on the guy to get moving on this and nailed him down on "next Friday at the latest" as a pick-up time for me. Today, Michele was actually able to go over and look at the two variations. He's shooting the test panel with clear and is leaving it outside of his office for her to pick up (she gets out of work after he closes) and we can see it in the sunlight this weekend. She will call Monday AM and tell him which of the two she wants to go with but I think we already know what that is even without the clear/sunlight peek. Progress!!!

Barring any major setback, I should have a build done next weekend!!! Look for a unique 2007 FZ1 in a thread near you!

Sounding great Eric! It's only a matter of time now although I know firsthand how difficult it is to have to wait for stuff to happen. I know I always want my stuff done yesterday. Then again, doing a "rush job" isn't good either so sit tight until Friday and hopefully the parts will be done.

All I want to know is if you changed your name go Guido for this conversation or are you still Eric?

There *may* have been mention of The Don or a violin case? :eek5: ;)

So, she picked up the two samples after work and we got to see them in the sunlight before it set this evening. Wow... WOW!!! So, she's picked the color and now the variant of it, and we're calling the shot Monday morning. What I can say is, no picture will serve to unveil the final result. I'm going to have to try a nice bright sunny walk-around with the GoPro HD and put up a video of it so you can see what her ride will look like. I'm getting really anxious to get this bike done. :D

The parts are all HOME! We picked them up this afternoon and I've just unloaded them from the car. I took three blankets and 7 pillow cases to transport them all in. I now have them unloaded and sitting pretty in the garage and they look AWESOME! Came out better than I had hoped! He went over budget by $54.00 but we didn't say anything about it. Michele is very happy with the end result. I hope to have her built tomorrow and if the sun is out, the only way to really get this bike revealed will be a GoPro HD walk-around in full sunlight. Pictures are not going to give the same effect, at least not with my ho-hum camera!

I do have pics of the parts both with and without the flash. Who thinks those should go up before the video of the completed build? *EDIT* No vote... over-ruled. She wants the video put up first before any pictures. Sorry!

Tell Michelle she's a big tease :D

Can't wait to see some pics or videos of the finished product so get in the garage and start putting it back together :)

Billy, you left yet?

I'm heading out in a few minutes to get started on the build. It'd COLD out there so I won't be moving fast... Plus, I have to be extra careful. One scratch and she'll have my arse in a sling!
