dropped my baby

I will have to be just about dying to go see a DR. I got a bottle of Percocets and a heating pad so I'm good. I'm pretty sure its just a strained muscle. As for the bike....I ordered some cheapo bar end mirrors just to get by. Hopefully I will like them otherwise I will end up buying something in the spring that I DO like. Oh and by the way...why the hell would a set of mirrors cost $109. I mean...do they steer the bike for me or help me achieve lift off?? Sure glad I found some that were $34 a pair.

If your talking about the bar end mirrors that go into the end of your handle bars from china well they are really good. I had a set on the FZ and when I got my super duke I put a set on that also. They seen a bit strange at first as every thing looks smaller but you get used to it.

Sorry to hear about your back, hopefully it's just a strained muscle. As for the bike, we all know it'll probably be fixed before your back gets better so focus on the back.

Always sux when you drop your bike but I'll take a drop in the drive way any time over one at speed, that's for sure.
Hope you heal quick mate as the bike can easily be fixed.

Thanks everyone! I attempted to go to work today..made it about half way through the day and just couldn't take it anymore..had to come home. My new mirrors should be here in about a week and my baby will be all better. As for my back...It BETTER be back to normal before those mirrors get here. I can't afford to be taking days out of work just because my body doesn't want to cooperate with me. I'm pretty thick headed so I'll probably just end up ignoring it and going on with life as usual.

Sorry about your bike. You indicated that the front tire slipped to the side. That tells me you may have stabbed the front brake which caused the tire to lock and slide in the shells.

Just a small suggestion. When you get to your driveway from now on, only use your rear brake. If you're going to use the front do it very gently and only when the bike is straight up and down...

This also applies to riding on dirt roads. Use you rear brake for the majority of stopping and braking...

(You may have already known this, but just thought I'd post it to help others...)

Also when picking up the bike there's a method that puts hardly any strain on the back. You face away from the bike and grab onto the handgrip with one hand the rear grab handle with the other and squat...

Thx Jboat...I did know those tips. I think the tire slip was due to the shells being piled up at the edge of the concrete pad that is there. My dog like to dig and move them around. As for picking it up...that was done in a fit of rage so it was my own fault. Also with the shit luck that I have..if I did pick the bike up like that I would end up going ass over tea kettle with the bike.

Hope you feel better soon. Backs can be tricky. Hearty second to the anti-inflammatory meds. Little late for the ice first, but heat feels SO good.

I only hurt my back doing a parachute landing a few years ago. It's fine now. But, it can take a long time to get it the same as before you tweaked it. I had excellent medical advice and some good meds.....Suggestion: get a medical opinion/treatment if it is bothering you this much (MD or DO). It can save you time & trouble later.
