Anyone else had an awesome ride today?

My memory sucks…... i actually have T32s mounted, so no word on durability of T33. Looks like this set of T32s will get around 7500. I did note that there was just a hint of scalloping on the front at midlife, pressure was a little high around 38 cold, will try lowering to 36. I need to spend the $60 rebate from that set. $310 after rebate is about what I paid for T32s in Nov.

I like the feel of the PR4s…... I suspect I’d like the 6s even better.
I wondered about that since the T33 is a new tire. Bridgestone is claiming significantly more mileage (up to 47%) for the T33 over the T32, FWIW, most likely to compete with the Road 6.

I just put a set of the S23s on my Superhawk and they are really good. I'll probably do the same with the FZ, although I'm tempted to try the T33s. I'll need to start riding more if I put a longer wearing tire on the bike.

I had some good riding days in the past week or two, but we've had some medical issues that kind of got in the way. I have surgery tomorrow morning that will likely keep me off the bike for at least 2 weeks... maybe a month or more. Hopefully that's all... Everybody keep posting up rides! I can't wait to join in again soon!
Hope all goes well

Hang in there! Dealing with AFib repair and other issues. Keep riding whenever you can!😎

Thanks! Triple bypass here. I guess the work they do on you is relatively simple... after they open you up like Sardine can... Days 1 and 2... lots of pain meds. Day 3, getting better and out of ICU.
Day 5 home and trying to find the balance for the best recovery. It does seem to move very slowly! On day at a time. Visions of riding in my dreams!

I got 170 miles on my project Harley, fun ride but man I couldn't handle long distances, the vibrations would put me to sleep on a straight highway after an hour! Taking the FZ out this weekend!

Keep getting better, but take it easy!

Popped out to do some errands so took the scenic route.
Saw a big plume of smoke so stopped to look it up, a big warehouse fire at Rushden (Northants, UK)

Got my inspection sticker yesterday at my friendly HD dealer. Did a circumnavigation of western Mass yesterday. Ended up hitting some uncommon roads. Probably about 250 miles. I had done 220 miles two days ago.

Debating going out again today, weather is cooperating just have a lot of stiffness in both hand from hanging on to vibrating handlebars. I’ve been debating 1 up one back risers to take some of the load of my hands

Last year at this time I had already seen a half dozen bears. Nothing so far this year except for deer and turkeys, lots of turkeys, too many turkeys,, and it seems to be mating season for them.

Hope you have a quick recovery. I got to enjoy a ride with a friend today. Surprisingly good temps in Louisiana today. 68 this morning 85 this afternoon. Felt nice all day. Starting around the middle of June , probably won't be able to ride till mid september

Did a 90 mile ride but not on my FZ, it was on my new (old) project Harley. It really beat the crap out of me with the vibration, I know Harleys vibrate but something is off here, engine alignment or mount issues. Mirrors and bars are fine, there's a low frequency vibration through the seat at low RPMs that resonates through my helmet. Still some work to do.

Pacific Coast Highway just reopened last weekend since the wildfires in LA, so it was an interesting ride. The damage is pretty insane, there is still a lot of cleanup going on and several lane closures along with a VERY heavy police presence and a strictly enforced 25MPH speed limit for several miles.

I stopped at an iconic LA motorcycle spot and encountered another 04 blue FZ1 just like mine. Owned by a much older gentleman, I only dream that I can keep riding at that age! Incredible! The bike was nice too, had a Ohlins rear shock with external reservoir.

Went on a 300 mile ride today on my 1998 Honda Superhawk. Beautiful day here in GA. The plug I put in my tire held up wonderfully and as the miles piled up I forgot about it.
I have had plugs last the life of the tire over several thousand miles. After removing the tire to swap on the new one I inspected the plug and then always wondered why I worried about it 😀 It was going nowhere.

Finally got out for a couple of rides in the last week. Been super busy. Son off to Boot Camp ,wife at wits end.lol The weather has been perfect and got out for a couple of 100 mile + rides. Bike is running great . Will get some pictures up soon. Everyone be safe and get out and ride!

Experienced the boot camp chapter of our lives about 7 years ago with youngest son. And have this poster up in the garage on the motorbike side.
Worked at Road America this past weekend so need to make up for that this coming. BRP is calling it seems.

Took a ride up to Jackson, MS last weekend. About 350 total miles. Rained buckets on me for a short while on the way home. Been a while since I plowed through water. Land is so low in the south and drainage is horrible. A hard short rain will cause a flood. Goes away quick but flood indeed. Made the trip to visit the “Country Squire”. A famous pipe tobacco shop down here. The things we do for good tobacco…

Smoke em if you got em.

Western Mass and Conn. around the CT River are still active tobacco growing areas. The long drying barns are still in use.

I’ve been told its some of the best cigar wrapping tobacco in the world. Most of it ends up in Cuba after first being sold to a third party country. Supposedly the high quality loam near the river goes down 10’. Some land owners make good livings just selling the dirt. The loam in my yard in central Mass goes down all of 3 inches.

Had a female friend who worked the fields as a teen along with her six brothers picking the crop. She said she would have withdrawal symptoms at the end of each season from contacting the nicotine on her hands and arms.

Hope to head that way and beyond today.

Last Friday I went for a ride with my son (XJ550) and his friend (BMW 1000R) and we stopped in at Conington Aerodrome Cafe for a cuppa.
I used to take my son flying from there from the age of 4 and Julie, the Airport Manager, gave us a warm welcome and told us that she used to ride an RD250 back in the day....
It used to be called RAF Glatton (to avoid confusion with RAF Coningsby) during the war and was home to the USAAF and 4 Squadrons of B17 bombers.
There is some nice hangar art to commemorate the crews that were lost, and also the short cross runway that is rarely used still has the marks and gouges from crashed B17s

Great pictures! What rear blinker kit do you use? I guess they are integrated into the rear lights? It looks clean!!

The rear indicators were already on the bike when I got it, they are mounted where the stock ones usually are.

The fronts I swapped out for the same chinese ones I used on my XT125 renovation, they are tiny but unfeasibly bright! I mounted them instead of one of the bolts on the join between the main fairing and side panels
