Anyone else had an awesome ride today?

Don't often ride with others......... I get it........but being retired I don't have work mates with bikes (which is who I use to occasionally ride with), or non-work friends that ride.

Got in about 160 miles yesterday with temps close to 60. Got my special warning from my Bridgestone rear tire on the way home. I can tell when I have less than 200 miles left when the rear tire slides a little under moderate braking. Time to change the donuts. Front tire is ready too.

Morning all.
Have been looking out my window for 4 months now here in Edmonton Canada and finally had a day today plus 10 Celsius. Got the bike out for a quick ride through all the gravel still on the roads from winter. Froze my ass but still had a smile on my face.
Expecting snow for the next 3 days and minus 9 ( Celsius ) as a high.
Can’t wait for summer.

Glad you were able to get out for a bit! I'd go nuts having to wait that long... or would need a bike with ice spikes!

You sound like me, want someone to ride with but everyone works.

My problem with riding with others is I tend to not ride my own ride. Not that they ride faster, I do.

The young engineer from work I rode with had a 748 Ducati and we had a similar pace. One day he asked me if his step dad could come along..... said sure why not. Traveled about 30 miles to where he lived, do the meet and greet and I'm probably five years older than his Dad. As we got ready to go (they were going to follow me) I asked him what his comfort level was in terms of pace? He looked confused so I said 5 mph over?, 10 mph over? His response was I always go the speed limit.......................it was a long day.

I couldn't ride the speed limit all day, The guys I ride with and myself probably ride 10 mi over the speed limit when we're cruising, but at any time one are all of us could blast off, lol. That's fun to me.

OK! Yesterday was in the mid to high 70s. It HAD to be a ride day. I've been so wrapped up in work and panic home projects, getting any free time has been a struggle. I've been here in South Central KY for just short of 2 years, and I'm still Riding solo. I did get "Wlfman" from FZ1OA to join in with me and another old riding buddy from Houston on our "Danger Noodle Rally" last August, but pretty much, it's been solo. I can deal with that, but it would be cool to find a few good local riding buddies to help get me out of the house more often!

I found a track file for a route down near Lebanon, TN on one of the Tennessee Roads FB groups and went for a ride. OK, it wasn't the most awesome route I've ridden, and getting to the loop was maybe more effort than it was worth, but Hwy 96 and 53 were nice. I met a guy at the "Bridge to Nowhere" near Woodbury that (I believe) said he started the FB Group "Tennessee Motorcycle Roads"... Maybe it was "Rides... dangit! Can't find that group. I must have the name wrong... still looking. Great guy, though. He shared some other road info while we chatted.

Maybe not an "epic" ride, but it was a great day out on the Fiz!

I had a epic ride yesterday on my bike with no intake valves. Redid the fuel system and have no starvation issues now, but i think the half wrap in the silencers needs to change. Pretty sure it was obnoxiously loud.

I have the most awesome set of rolling backroads a few miles from me and the speed limit is 60.

Sure glad to hear you got out. Sounds like nice roads where your at. Here in Louisiana the area where I live 75% of the roads are good, but that other 25% are horrible. Riding buddy's, ..hmm. I've got like 6 friends and my brother and nephew to ride with, problem is except for 3 they're always working. So the 3. One has about 10 bikes and he wrenchs more than rides. One is dealing with cancer, and the third I've lost to porn. So, I'm riding mostly alone, but man am I enjoying it. At least until summer gets here. Up north the bikes are put away for winter, down south they're put away for the summer sweltering heat and humidity. Sorry didn't mean to drag this out like this lol

Hello, my fellow coonass! I am in south Louisiana. Weather was perfect today I agree. Got 80miles in. Used to run those Angels. They are good.
Hey Jmoto, My new tire came in. I bought perelli angel st this time, mostly cause they're $134 for rear on ebay. But you know what, the tread on the st down the center looks twice as deep as the GT, . Maybe the GT has a harder compound in the middle I don't know.. And I was getting comments on how it was showing signs of wear early. The GT has one set of short slots and ST has two and theyre deeper20240331_181555.jpg20240331_181631.jpg

Well... it would be great to have riding buddies, but then again, solo is good. The Sunday ride was good, but I could make it longer and make the route down more interesting. Fortunately, I have a lot of good curves here that are a lot closer.

Bike's in good shape ahead of summer, new tires, fork oil, recent chain/sprockets, radiator fluid, and motor oil. Could use some new foot peg rubbers.

Saturday was cold in the morning but tolerable in the afternoon, got out for two hours in the 50s today to finish setting my rebound damping. Happy with current settings.

The winter wasn't fantastic but I did get out often enough. Had the heated gear roasting on Saturday morning. Was a little shocked when I was caught by a group of about 10 Adv bikes. They weren't in the mirror long as it seemed someone had to stop. The downside to group riding.

More than two or three, no thanks.

Got in a good 2 hour loop Sunday afternoon along with my wife. She is getting used to her new Rebel 1100 so I took the '03 FZ1. Stopped for some fuel and met a nice older gentleman with a '04 Skunk.
He said he always wanted a "bee" and but I couldn't talk him into a swap.

From what I remember is the Perelli’s st performed well. Didn’t get good milage tho. It’s hard to beat 14k on a set of PR4s. On my 3rd set of those. Might get the R6s next, heard they last even longer.
