An addition to the house... (New pics added 8/23/2010)

does that make me a bad@$$ if I do the same thing with a 6" blade??

better you than me, that is all I can say when it comes to taping....I'll hang it all day long and leave good joints, but you won't see me standing around when the knives are broken out.....:shoot:

I can tell you that I won't be choosing that as an optional career! ;) I hate doing it because I am my own worst critic. I am so damned picky when it comes to my own work so it takes me a lot longer than it should.

With this unusual heat we are having, I'm sorry but it is going to wait for cooler nights! :D

As luck would have it....

Lee jinxed me and I couldn't find a part to that water tank for sanding! So, here is a very poor shot of the Ghost of Drywall Past for Lee. I think the camera focused on the fallout!

My wifes comment (typical motherly gene kicking in): "Why does he not have shoes on?"

LOL!!! If I could go barefoot all the time, I would!

The room is about 85% ready for primer and paint. I need to hit some areas with a little more lightweight compound tonight and then sand out the corners and transitions on the cathedral. We hope to have it painted before the weekend and then tile it Saturday, grout it Sunday and then I can trim it out next week!

One more thing about that pic... I'm down almost 15 pounds from the start of the year. w00t!!! I've lost 9 since you and Tony were here. Hope I can drop at least 20 more!

Paint tomorrow night... :D

Short video of the room after the final coat of primer. The lighting sucks but you get the picture. :D

I'm very sorry Eric as I actually noticed the weight loss when I first looked at the picture but my "whiteboy" analogy was fresh in my mind and I forgot to mention it. Congrats! Your looking good my boy! Michele is going to have a new room and a new "stud" when this is all over!:woot:

Good stuff mate:party0011:. I was wondering how you were going with that.

We should have been done quite some time ago but the hot and humid weather here has stopped a lot of work. These last few days, we have the AC pumping with fans to cool it down to a working temp. :D

Thanks all! She gets some color today! Michele is the painter.

Latest update...

Finding time to get this done is hard but we've been picking away at it. There is now light at the end of the tunnel! :D So, here's some pics of it painted, the electrical up and as of yesterday, the tiling is done. I will be grouting this later today. That will leave only the trim work for the doors, windows and baseboard. Then I get to put up the shelving, coat hooks and get the final inspection.

Here's the latest... Some taken last weekend, the ones with tile, taken just a while ago. (Sorry about the size... I thought I reduced them more than this!)

Grats man! I lost about 30 last year. Done a good job of maintaining this year but work hard again. I need to loose another 15 - 20 lbs.
