2nd gear full throttle falls flat on its face.

The area service Rep. called to inform me that they are going to replace the throttle bodies as soon as the part arrives from Japan. We shall see if this cures the problem?

That seems odd considering it is a gear specific problem. Does the throttle body know what gear you are in?

Yamaha installed new throttle bodies and guess what? It did not cure the problem. Hopefully, Yamaha will install a new ECU soon, we shall see.

Odd. Throttle bodies are mechanical. This really appears electronic to me. Good luck!

I have yet to hear about a malfunctioning ECU on an FZ-1. The servo for the sub-throttle plates has failed on a few people on the forums, so this may be why they went with the throttle body first.

A quick update. Just about six weeks now and the FZ is still not fixed after a new set of throttle bodies and a new ECU. I have now called Yamaha Corp. Time will tell?
