That was my thought also as the oil looks clean , the mieage is ok, I just did not know what the deal was with the 6 month interval in the manual ??

I do not get a opportunity to ride a lot so here is the deal ..I am leaving for a 1200 mile trip soon.. I last changed the oil 11 months ago and have ridden the fz1 3000 miles.. I use a Yamaha filter and semi-syn Yamaha oil. Manual says every 6 months ?????? or 4000 miles.. My quseion is...

Did yamaha make a belly pan (optional) for the fz1 Gen 1 ? I not where is a good place to get one ? Thanks

Got my 17 today. I pulled off the chain cover and found there was not enough room for a 17.. That surprised me as I thought the gen 2 came with a 17, if so how did Ya:gagged:maha make room for it ??? .. no I am not grinding cases.. Guess i will go 41t..

Looking at the chart it appears to reduce my speedo by the 6-7 % range I will need a 17 or a 41. I really needed to lower my cruising rpm by 4-500 anyway .. thx for the info..

Looking into changing my gen 1 chain and sprocketts.. I see alot of 520 conversions.. Would the 16/44 520 be the same ratio as the 16/44 530 ?? Also any advantage of going to the 520 ?? I ride my fz1 in a normal fashion...

I chk my speedo today at 75mph and I was actually going 70.. I guess thats about a 7% error.. My question is if I put a 17tooth front on will this provide me the correct sppedo reading? I am thinking i will loose about 6 % in the final reduction ???? Thx
