i have trouble shifting when i wear my mx boots
when i wear any other boot i have it shifts as sweet as.....
but that was before i switched to r6 pegs....shifting even better now but still not brilliant with mx boots
had this prob after not using the bike for a few months and the garage not being attached to the house lets in a bit of damp...
so looked on net and found it could be thermowax unit pushrod which it was..had dirt and grit on push rod and stopped pushing as wax warmed up.

likely route is to bung a nitron (made in uk) in the fz1 and fz1 shock in that...
but where the cross brace for the top shock mount is going has all been worked out with an old vfr shock which i was...

top shock mount away at welders as i type and swingarm needs sleeving and shaving at a machine shop to go on properly...cut back left side frame swingarm boss 5 mm ( that was a task and a half) to get ssssa in for further measurements

think i may be too light at 82kg for this shock anyway..heavier bike and with a 16.9kg spring may not work for me...needs a big guy..or gal...
getting an r1 shock 2nd hand and then trying to get ride height to 325/330mm puts cost up..
might as well go new and...
bb shock cant be worse than fz1 unit...
i see a lot of vfr/vtec riders upgrade to bb shock
honda quality on a zzr/hayabusa league bike shouldnt be too shoddy afterall

i rode in the cold last week and my temp readout was around 72 to 73 degrees...but then i noticed the readout changed to what looked like A....6, possibly R...6 which then rose to 7 then 8...

i have the half faired fz1 and did a 120 mile trip last week when it was 0 degrees C, 32F...with snow on the fields either side of the motorway
i tried getting surgical gloves under my winter ones but couldnt...but my motorcycle inner gloves allowed the outers to slide on ok...i would have liked...

i hear ya but needed the leverage it gave me over a standard ratchet.....
i use torque settings as a bit of a guide and go by feel too.....i hate snapping heads off..
so if wrench is out a bit its not really a problem for me..within reason
last time i changed tyres i had no choice but to just give the bike to a dealer to do as i was on a holiday tour....
this time i saved 25% of that cost by getting the tyres as a paired deal off the net and getting the local shop to do the biz on my loose wheels.
