Akrapovic or Yoshimura full system one of these days...

Hey Scotty, when you gonna have that bad boy installed?? Looks sweet buddy!

As soon as I get home in early april Billy :D can't wait! Plan is, get bike dyno'd first to see the base line... then I have new PR2CT's to go on, plus the Akra, Penske 8983 (ordered it thru Traxxion, they are still building it up), front and rear axle sliders, K&N filter...
I still have to order a power commander 5... So that will be fitted at the same time as all the rest...
Question is, does it make any difference to the dyno results if there's a tyre change in between runs? Or is that being too picky?

Don't think the small difference in outside diameter between a used tire and a new one will affect the dyno numbers much. The main thing that would affect it would be tire slippage (if it was happening at all).

Also I have a set of PSR AIS block off plates... I'm wondering do I need to block the AIS off with just the Akra can on there?

When the bike is dynoed the AIS system will need to be defeated in order for the pipe AF readings to be accurate. The dyno operator can do this with a clamp on the hose but the full removal of the AIS would of course take care of this issue as well. It seems pretty common for the slip on guys to notice more popping than when their bike was stock. Even more so with a full system. You won't hurt anything leaving the AIS active and test riding the bike to see if you need / want to do it. . . .

Thanks for the info! In that case I'll try it out before I block it then.

hey guys,

is it possible to fit an FZ1 with an Akra slip on along with arrow headers and mid pipes to make a full system?

i think that might be a bit cheaper then buying an akra full system....

Yes of course it is, that's what I did with my FZ1N.
You don't need the Arrow midpipe, just the headers, the Akra slip-on comes with a midpipe already.

Yea, that is probably the way to go if you want a full system. You get the advantages of an aftermarket header and your choice of slip-ons :)
