    Givi sidecase brackets wanted

Hello, I am interested in a set of the Givi sidecase brackets for their Monokey luggage. Givi's part number is PLX359 or PLXR359. If you have a set for sale, please let me know. I'm in the US. Thanks. Eric

    ECU flash

Don't know about the Micron headers, but the Arrow's, while being sweet looking and allowing you to keep your current slip on, don't fill in the midrange like the Yosh system does. Its about a 8-10hp difference between the Arrows and the Yosh at 7.5k (and a full 10hp over the stock header)...

    ECU flash

If you are close to Geoff and can ride over there at any point (rather then shipping the ECU out like the vast majority of FZer's will have to do) then there is certainly no drawback to having the fueling tuned in the ECU. . .Looking at your mod list, you haven't done a full exhaust system...

Gen 2 exup for noise or power gain?

Just one more thing here and I'll leave it alone. Here's a dyno chart (2nd chart) from Ivan comparing the stock bike's power output to a heavily modded one. I don't think the modded bike has a full exhaust system on it and it is definitely not his latest "full package" which includes the ECU...

Gen 2 exup for noise or power gain?

You really should read up on both this site and (even more so) the FZ10a site on performance subjects for the GenII. You say earlier that Yamaha (on the genII) did a pretty good job on torque / yours pulls nicely for 2k on up. . .While the GenII may pull cleanly from low revs it is actually in...

Gen 2 exup for noise or power gain?

You said "For those who think exup valves are for noise only WRONG" This is your first post Thread is OLD and on a subject that has been gone over and over and over and over again Your statement is confrontational and suggest that peoples understanding of the the EXUP is "WRONG" . . . In...

    "it does sweet F.A . . ." ?????????????

Gen 2 exup for noise or power gain?

Subject has been beaten to death. ON THE GENII FZ1 THE EXUP VALVE SERVES NO DETECTIBLE ENGINE PERFORMANCE ENHANCING PURPOSE. This has nothing to do with its use in other applications . . For instance it most certainly has a performance enhancing function in the GEN1 FZ1 . . . Way to climb out...

    Arrow vs Yoshimura headers

Don't know the weight of the full Yosh in the various trims but they are definitely light. Are you a racer? The difference in weight between the full Yosh and an Arrow header + slipon setup is not going to be significant enough to be worth much consideration. They both are MUCH lighter than...

Guys I need help choosing which bike to get, What would you do?

Ivans ECU flash will require a power commander anyway.

    Gen 1 to Gen 2

Very little has changed over the years with the GenII. As a result it makes little sense to buy a new(ish) one. In stock form the GenII is also far from what it really can be. I would suggest looking for a used one either stock (for the right price) or one with the proper mods already done...

Custom Dyno tune or Ivans full system

Also keep in mind that having your fueling adjusted on a dyno does nothing to address a number of shortcomings in the stock bikes programming. A dyno tune can't remove the deceleration fuel cut, can't adjust the opening rates of the secondary throttle plates and can't remove the lower gear...

    Arrow vs Yoshimura headers

Did you do your runs yet or is the day just getting started in OZ? The biggest difference that one would expect to see here is in the mid range. The Yosh should provide close to 10hp gain at around 7.5k rpm. Top RPM differences between the headers should be small with the other various...

    Ecunleashed flash

Zowne, Obviously from what you say, you can still feel fuel cut (without the fce) even after the flash. Ivan offered a quick easy test to see if the basics of the fuel cut system were still active. Here's what he said to do: "The easiest way to tell if fuel cut is disabled is to look at...

What are the true Dyno results

Zowne says "I run my own motorbike dyno tuning shop here in Adelaide, Australia. (www.JDRperformance.com.au) We can eliminate "dishonest operator" as I have never and would never fudge dyno results to get a different reading. I honestly don't see the point in it. I'm using a top of the line...

What are the true Dyno results

I still don't know where you are coming up with your numbers. Just about the max torque I have seen from a modern 1000c streetable supersport is right around 80ft/lbs. That is for tuned bikes with flashes and aftermarket exhausts. What 1000c bike inline four is making 95ftlbs of torque...

What are the true Dyno results

Not sure where you get your "down 20/30ftlb" numbers. Don't have a figure for a stock FZ1 torque output, but a full package one makes a bit over 75ftlbs. Most liter supersports make about that but at a bit higher RPM. A tuned and piped S1000RR will make closer to 80ftlbs but again at a higher...

    Ivan's FCE problem....

You should double check your install work. Make sure that all the wires are connecting to the correct place and make absolutely sure that your crimps are good. A quality tool, used properly will make crimps that look factory and that will give a reliable connection. Did you use a decent crimp...

    FlashTune

Just to clarify . . .FCE stands for "fuel cut eliminator" and it is an electronic add on device that Ivan's Performance makes and sells. It's primary job is to eliminate the deceleration fuel cut that on the GenII that results in snatchy on off throttle performance. . . .Flashes have the...

    Ceramic exhaust coatings

I can pretty much guarantee that the stock headers are not rusting though the OP's ceramic coating. The stock headers would take a very very long time to do so.
