YZF Winter Spruce Up 2012

I couldn't for the life of me know why it's not working? Go to another one of my threads with pics and check and see. I upload from Photobucket as I'm sure many here do. I'm not aware of any special settings or anything like that. I'm stumped.

Billy

Im not sure what is going on. I checked the first page and i cant see the pics. I saw the pics when you first posted them. I went to your official make over thread and I cant see them eather. For some reason the little inserts are hit and miss I see some but not all of them. I have never had any problem befor, as long as i was loged in I could all the pics. I checked on of Petes threads and I can still see his pics.
I bet it has something to do with my phone.

Sunday: Rear Wheel Rehab

Being Daytona Sunday, I wasn't planning on going down today. I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to at least get the rear wheel done and finished. It would mean me not having to uncover, unlock, and move the bike.

I started by cleaning the rear spacers. They came out okay but once you get most of the surface clean, the little dark spots start bothering you, or at least me, but I'm anal. So i'm going to bring them upstairs to remove the last remaining spots with steel wool.

I sprayed the sprocket nuts with PB Blaster when I first got into the garage and they came off with ease.

Kerosene and Scotch Brite made easy work of getting the rust and surface corrosion from the sprocket.

I'll bring it upstairs as well to finish it up with the steel wool.

The Cush Drive was next and luckily wasn't as dirty as all the rest so it cleaned up beautifully.

I then took a rag of kerosene and scrubbed the sprocket side of the wheel. Once it was fully clean, I neutralized it with soapy water and gave it a heavy dose of Meguiar's Ultimate and buffed it out to a nice shine.

I flipped it over and applied the same routine to the rotor side.

I took the kerosene impregnated scotch brite pad and did both sides of the rotor, getting all the surface rust off and then cleaned it with Brake Clean Spray. It came out nice and the rear wheel was finished. One more thing to check off the list!

Next weekend I'm going to hit it hard and finish the rear caliper, re-install the wheel, and start on the exhaust headers, kickstand, and body panels. Stay tuned!

P.S. Mike: I'm sorry you can't see the pics. I checked everything and I haven't changed anything on my end in terms of uploading and posting, so I can't think of whats wrong.

You are doing a great job. When will you be over to do my FZ1?

I don't know if you were planing to do all this anyway, but if not, that was quite a time costly ride in the wet at the end of last season. I hate for that to keep me from riding, but I'm not as patient or handy as you, and I know I wouldn't clean it up like that :spank2:, so I tend to stay away from those rides. Keep it up.

No Troy, I wasn't planning on a rebuild, and yes, it was extremely costly! Is that trip over to you "all expenses paid"?????

Really? I have never sat on one but they don't look too uncomfortable.

Oh no, not in terms of discomfort, but talking about the numbness I get in my legs from bad circulation. My butt is fine as the seat is wide and comfortable. When I rode Tony's YZF back from the seller, he had the Corbin Saddle which was a dream! Too bad you can't find them. You'd be luckier finding a Unicorn!

Damn you guys!!!! Have to keep reminding me!!!!! The problem is I have the mentality of a 15 year old!:surrender:

So, THAT's why your in the bathroom with the water running... :nothing:

Hey, I'm 43, so I'm headed for something more... mature friendly. I've really been eyeing the new FJR too much. Maybe I'll just go for this...
