Planning on doing a slip-on exhaust, decat, airbox mod and Copperdawg flies. Will I need an ecu flash or power commander?

Edit: I'll take the silence as a yes, lol

Did you end up doing the mods? I'm thinking of just doing the slip-on. Leave the CAT in there... just remove the servo cables and stock exhaust. I'm wondering if I need sealants or springs to properly secure the slip on? In any case, anything more than this requires a ECU flash from everything I hear.

Flash yes.
Power commander is old tech junk and WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!
Good to know... a shop I was at said they no longer do any ecu flashing, but tried to sell me a Power Commander... In any case, I'm just sticking with mid-pipe and slip-on swap... so I don't think I'll bother flashing anything just yet.

I used vcyclenut.com for my ecu flash tuned to my setup. Fantastic resullt!
There is also Ivans for flashing the gen 2 fz1 ecu.

That's interesting... how does that work that he provides all this?

The flash includes:

Ignition timing changes including removing the timing restrictions in the lower gears
Secondary throttle plate adjustments, for improved mid range power ( I do not recommend using aftermarket smaller throttle plates or removing them with the flash)
Fueling changes to match your modifications (no piggy back fuel controller needed)
Fan temp modification
Speedometer correction
Disable injector decal cut, disable AIS, disable EXUP
Rev limiter adjustment
Your bike will be smoother. more powerful and more fun to ride.
Lifetime reflashes are included in original purchase to original purchaser. Shipping fees still apply."

EXUP and AIS needs to be done manually... so I guess a bunch of other things there?

Anyway, you just mailed in a computer from inside the bike?

Yes. Had it back in a week.
The ecu (computer) controls all the above parameters.
If you don't know what you ard talking about, then zip it!
