turn signal upgrades

I thought the point of switching to LED bulbs, which generally produce less light then the incandescent bulbs they replace was that they drew less energy.
If these LEDs require the same curent (amperage) draw as stock, why use LED bulbs and not the brighter incandescent bulbs.

You have it a little backwards.

LED's generally are a LOT brighter than incandescent bulbs, and they DO draw a lot less power.

But the point of doing it has nothing at all to do with current draw as it is such a small amount of power it makes no difference. However, they LOOK better and depending on the brand you get they have a more favorable flash.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am on this?

Right:

Per watt, they make way more light, and produce far less heat. They are immediate on/off instead of slow-burn of incandescents so the flashing is crisper. I think the challenge is they are tiny in comparison, and reflectors don't work the same way as they do with regular bulbs. The effect is bulb lights usually look BIGGER, but the LED's are BRIGHTER. So you really need more LED bulbs to make the light fixture look bigger, or you need great refractors.

I think the draw is pretty important too - you're a lot less likely to drain the battery as fast as using regular bulbs.

Oh and LED's are supposed to last 10 times longer or more...
