Is that a 2 stroke? I have found even the 150cc 2-strokers to have a bad powerband for newbies.

As was stated the XR250 is a 4 stroke.

Because they are relatively low horsepower I thought it would be a good started bike for my wife. However the torque turned out to bee too much for her to handle and she popped the clutch pulled a huge wheelie and wrecked pretty hard.

So I sold it and got her a CR125 (2 Stroke) with almost no torque so she could pop the clutch all she wanted and the front would never lift on her.
