I switched over to Bridgestone 023's and have never looked back. It's a new sport touring tire that still has the "sticky" outer strips but the center patch is a harder compound so you don't get that "squared off" tire when commuting or taking longer highway rides.
 
I've had the following tires on my FZ: Michelin PP2's, 023's, Q2's, & PR 2's and the PR's are the BEST tire I've ever had....period! I'm interested to try the PR 3's!
 
I put Pilot Powers on my FZ and was pleased with them. Inexpensive, great grip and I managed over 6000 miles out of a rear without issue and still had some life left

To be honest, for sport touring I think you couldnt really go wrong with any of the modern rubber from the big names these days
