Ok yet another project in the garage, like I really needed another. Going on vacation for the next couple of days so the real work will not start until tuesday. I have a stock pipe coming next week to replace the one modified by Corn Holelieo. Also discovered the rear rim is tweaked so a replacement is to be found.

Looks pretty decent. I'm sure once you go over it, it should be looking and running great. Will be a great first bike for her for sure

Nice little ride! Should clean up quite well. I forgot those are mono-swingarm bikes. Looks fairly solid though. Hope she enjoys it!

Thing I have learned by sitting on a beach and joining a Hawk form. To get modern tire sizes all you need to do is convert to a VFR rear wheel and a F2 front with minimal Modding. Ut Oh!!!!!!

Sounds like the sun is giving you a bad case of "mod fever"...lol

I don't know how many of you have had the opportunity to ride a Hawk but if you haven't you should. This thing just puts a smile on my face. Thus far even more cleaning, brakes rebuilt new Galfer pads, cleaned carbs, new plugs, adjusted valves, changed fork oil, BT16's on order, new brake and clutch levers installed.Yes I know :needpics: pictures to come tomorrow.

Learned a new trick for faded black plastics like switch gear that has turned grey. Peanut Butter, seriously cover the part in peanut butter let it sit about 15 minutes the wipe off and clean with a detailer. Works awesome. If you have peanut allergies you may want to find another way.

Some new photos. Synced carbs today. So far total investment of 1560.00 with tires(not here yet), OEM muffler and a new (used) rear rim. Check out how well the peanut butter worked on the switch gear!!!!

Got the new used muffler and rear wheel. Spent yesterday tuning for the last time. Took it to get a set of BT 016's mounted up and inspection. The mechanic who worked on thanked me for bringing it in and offered me 2800.00 for it. I don't think I will be parting with it. I can't believe these did not sell better than they did. This is a very fun bike to ride, very fun.

Its been awhile since I've updated this post but shes been as reliable as a timex. On a spirted back road run I blew a fork seal and I purchaced a set of Protech rearsets a few months ago but needed some misc part to install them.

Yesterday I intended to get what I needed to install the rearsets and new fork seals. What I ended up getting is a total different story. Note this stuff should be aimed at the ZX.

Full front end rebuild with all Racetech components, yes emulators and springs.

Braided lines front and rear. The rear will now be routed through the swing arm for a really clean look and ideos to the chain guard. Also a hydraulic brake light switch.

The big one a Penske 8900 to help control the 47 hp going to the ground.

New photos in the next couple of weeks

Johnny:

Bike looks awesome. I took on a similar project years ago and thought you would want to see how mine came out.

Didn't have many problems and wanted to keep her mostly original except for the exhaust. Here's the pics when I was MOSTLY done. There's always something to do.

So many people don't realize how absolute FUN that thing is. I remember riding that thing all day and never getting the smile off my face. What a terrific sound with a great torquey poerband and such quick and light handling.

I think you and I have very similar bike tastes indeed. Hopefully I'll get to meet you sometime, but in the meanwhile, ride that beauty safely.

I have to go to the other PC to get the pics but I'll post them up tonight.

Brian
