The Hawk Has Landed

That thing was CLEAN. How did that Kerker sound?

UNBELIEVABLE! That's why it was the only thing I didn't restore to stock. Had Kerker stuff on so many bikes over the early 90s I had to get one for the Hawk.

I can't even remember how many miles were on it when I sold it, about 5K, and I gave her away for $3,500 when I moved out of FL to Deal's Gap in TN.

All the suspension is off. She is resting on a floor jack and the center stand. Spent part of today doing some extra nice cleaning, disassembled the forks and drilled the hole in the swing arm to route the rear brake line inside the swing arm. Brown Santa comes tomorrow.

Had I know how much of a PIA modifying those forks would be I just would have got F2 or F3 forks off of Ebay. I have been told this is a better way to go. I had to drill extra holes in the pistons and then cut some aluminum tubing to set initial or static preload, then make up various sizes for overall preload. Having adjusters is much easier.... :dontknow: Rear shock install was straight forward. I added 10mm to the rear ride height and dropped the front 5mm. Tomorrow I need to tackle the brake lines. The front will be a non issue but I still need to drill a hole in the swing arm to route the brake line through it. The Goodridge lines I got for it have screw on banjo's so I just nee a hole big enough to fit the line itself in. This is really going to make the swing arm look much cleaner. In a way this is a goo learning experience for me. There isn't a big data base for info on the suspension settings so its kind of on my shoulders to get it right or at least in the ballpark.

BTW Amevl was Todd Rogrants whore back in the 80's
