Stomp Grips tank pads

I went with a leather tank bra instead, mainly because I like the look and it's easier to remove.

They work! It really allows you to lock your legs into the tank. I have had it on all of my bikes street and track. I would recomend tech specs for the street and stomp grip for the track. It really comes down to your riding style and if you use your legs to lock onto the tank if they would be worthwhile for you.

The stomps are very agressive and will wear the inside of your leathers they will take the finish off, and can be rough on the legs through jeans. Plus the tech specs just look nicer. I have never had any peeling issues with mine. You do need to clean the tank well and heat up the metal and the grips with a heat gun or hair dryer for proper adhesion.

I am considering trying to make my own tank grip pads. I think that I can tape up my tank with blue painters tape and then coat the areas with bed-liner polyurethane coating. It can then be peeled off after curing 24-hours' trimmed and attached with 3M trim glue. You can make an entire tank cover if you like.

I use the Tech Spec's. The are a little less aggressive than the Stomp Grips. They work fine for me and have not had any peeling issues yet.

Yah, I've been getting some feedback from others.....and one of my racing buds that say they use tech spec and don't like stomp grip. I need something more, but felt stomp grip on a bike today and not sure I want that for extended time.

Plus there are the peeling, installation, aspects too.

Yep. My tank is plastic.....may not stick as well?

Sounds interesting. I'd like to hear how it turns out. :)

I do like the look of the clear stomp grip.

Like the new avitar!

I had clear on my 08 FZ1 - they look really good once applied and allow you tank color to show through nicely, but any air bubbles or application flaws will show through. Take you time with the application and they will come out good. I made a few mistakes on my fist attempt at this and let that side sit in the sun all day and it seemed to clear 90% of it up.

stomp grips wreck the inner leg parts of your leathers mine were all torn up after 15,000 miles on my old sv with stomp grips

great with a pillion though

One of my very good friends rides track all the time and used to race. He doesn't like stomp grips, but does use tech spec snakeskin.

I definitely need something for grip. I rode 478 miles yesterday in the hill country with some riders and my tank is just too slippery...

After sitting on a bike with stomp grips a couple days ago, I don't know if it is for me (although that doesn't count as riding it). Anyway, I have ordered some tech spec snakeskin. See below:
