RZ 350 Kenny Roberts Edition

Eric, obviously he won't sell his prize RZ. SHOW only. . . no go . . .
It's eye candy that causes me to drool , , ,,, but, what if he would sell it? WHAT would that bring?? MMmmhhhhhhh , , ,, ,,

Well, he actually would sell it if the right price was offered. He put $1mil on it to ward of the low ball customers. He said his spider-sense would tingle when more than $10k in cash was wafted under his nose. ;)

Well he's going to be holding on to it for a while yet. Only the RZ500s have crossed the $10k price range. I don't see an RZ350 doing that for a long time and only if it's a truly pristine example.

Yes, I agree. And I think that is why he's got that price in mind... because he really truly doesn't want to sell it at all. Shame it just sits there like a trophy instead of being enjoyed as it should be. :( I feel sorry for the bike.

The RZ350 today

Cleaned the tool kit. Applied a light film of acid-free oil to protect them and then placed them back in the tool bag for storage.

Then I cleaned and painted the chain gard. Looks mucho better now!

Then, I started work on the front fender. . . . more pics later,

Nice work Gary. Yesterday I did a little cleaning (well just taking things apart really) on my Honda Hawk GT and I didn't want to have to stop.

I bet you can't wait to have that RZ running again, especially now that Spring is right around the corner :)

Gary if I win the lotto within the next week you'll have some serious competition, even if I spot you 100cc ;)

Yamaha : TZR250 Yamaha : TZR250 | eBay

Just checked on the auction and I think-- YOU Tony, should put in a bid? Then, after you win it, we could terrorize all of our 4-stroker friends here on the forum . . . . heh, heh, Zooooooooooooooooom ading ,,ding , ,

Btw, I could use some serious competition?? You bet I could !! Come on , , , bid that rascal up . . :woot:

You have that right!! Spring is getting closer (we spring forward one hour this weekend) and, I am extremely anxious to get the little yellow bee out on the road!!
What are you doing exactly to the HAWK ?? She looks pretty darn good to me?? Service work? A good winter's cleaning ??

Btw, don't forget. . . . YOU need that TZR250-RS mini-rocket. That looks to be a RARE find . . !

Like with any used bike I get I just like to go through it and check it all out before I get on the road. I'm going to give it a good cleaning and replace a few little things like the "droopy" stock turn signals. And just add a little spray paint here and there to make it look nicer. Not looking to sink a lot more money into it.

Man trust me I've been drooling over that TZR250-RS. I've never seen another one for sale here in the US, especially in such nice condition. I suspect most of those ended up on the racetrack (where they belong)...

Well I did have a bid on it, but have been seriously outbid by now :(

Yep . .. . I can absolutely see why you like that one. It is pristine and RARE. What a "trackbike" that would make!!! You could gather a crowd at every pit-stop with that beauty . . . . and YOU would look soooo good perched up on the tank, digging in, and grabbing for traction deep in the corners.
I'm thinking, borrow the money from the mob at 200% interest, invest in this gorgeous machine for a few years, then sell BIG later on ?! Yes Tony ??:woot: yes, yes , , ,,

So Gary how much you willing to lend me at that 200% interest :scared:

I would love to see that bike in person. Too bad it's on the other side of the country :(

Money? No problem. . . I have exactly a buck-seventy left after expenses on the RZ . . . . will that help? heh, heh, Not even enough for a phone call anymore. :shaking head:

You are right about being clear across the country . . .seems about all the really neat, collectable bikes are in sunny CA. ??

I too would love to see it in person. I wonder if it will sell . . . . mmmmhhhhhh. .. . it is fun to watch the auction !!

Yea, I wouldn't want to live in CA, but they sure do seem to have a lot of neat bikes out there.

Let's see if it really sells. I have seen too many of this eBay auctions just end early for no particular reason. Have the feeling a lot of times the seller just doesn't get as much as they though they were going to get. This one will be fun to watch for sure...:)

Blown RZ

Here is a picture from Bonnyville Speed Week. This must be a fun ride, although I would never modify a RZ 350 since I really want a mint stock one.

I would love to run in the Salt Flats. What an incredible race, great tradition and that hot world record holder from Dallas named Leslie. i know we have a Tx version which im trying to run in Oct but the Salt Flats is something i want to do once in My life. :-)

Now that is a cool RZ. I can't imagine what the kick is like once it's on boost and in the power band.

When I raced mine I started stock and over the next three years modded it with my club's superbike rules.

I had a Bassani air box, Boyesen reeds, 30mm cards, decked the head, full porting and Spec II chambers. The first time I rode it with the full port I was ready disappointed until it hit about 8,500 rpm. I was going down pit road, and gassed it to get up to speed to merge onto the track - as soon as I gassed it all I saw was blue sky!

That bike was a rocket ship. I could pass GSRX750s in the long straight at Firebird, and hang with GSXRs 1100s tight in their draft.

The hard part was keeping the bike on the pipe, I had to shift so much keep it on the boil.

Interstingly my R6 is very similar to the RZ, it's a dog below 10,500. But from 10,5 to 15,0 it is a monster, totally screams! My last track day a guy came by my pits and asked what size the motor was. I said, "A 600." He didn't believe me as his new CBR1000 wouldn't pass my on the straight. Shift, shift, shift, shift....
