I live here and that is the standard expectation. Remember, riding a Harley is not about riding it's about a "way of life" and that way is to assume supremacy.

That is the reason I seldom enter on RR 337. Harley people, in my opinion, aren't about riding, it's about the "lifestyle", and they normally impede lawful speed traffic on difficult parts of road, but they do accelerate to supra-legal speeds on straighter stretches of road.

I'm not a fast rider and don't choose to be but I do, without prejudice, move over and wave through any overtaking traffic. Regardless of how many cylinders it may have.

Just understand, it is different if you ride a Harley.

Well, I didn't set out to do it. It's just that these bikes.....well, you know........are incredible and sometimes you just have to accelerate with a purpose ;) :)
 
Tired and hitting the sack in Canyon Lake. 278 miles today. Night all! 819 miles so far. Another 270 or so tomorrow.

Great meeting you too Brad and everyone else.....we had 9 riders out there this time, didn't we? Pyro Tour is catching on! What a terrific time we had! Next year, who knows how many?

Of course, there is still the finish touches tomorrow. Take care, ride safe, & have fun! :)
 
Heading back to Houston today - time depends on the reality and location of the worst of the storms.

What a great fun time with everyone! Complete Blast - new friends, great riding, no problems. Well, my overheat (thanks for the assist George!) by the way - the way to fill your Gen 1 overflow reservoir on the road is to use the removed side cover as a sideways funnel.

Learned more about how capable the bike can handle wet riding.

Next year ( April 12-16 ) - a few changes, less riding on 41, changing dinner location at Canyon Lake.

We made a symbolic sacrifice to the moto-gods for past and future safety, sweet roads, perfect combustion and great weather....

BTW, thanks again for helping me adjust my suspension. It makes a world of difference. No more "pogo-ing" :)

Awesome time Jeff! Be safe and try to stay dry.

I really enjoyed it. 39 is a fun road, especially with you showing us the way. Old San Antonio Rd was cool too. I love learning new places. Thx. Maybe we can meet halfway before another year & do a different "mini-tour" or something. Or just do a meet up & ride. I was telling Brad it's only 95 miles to College Station from here. :) You guys stay in touch.

39 is a much overlooked gem. Most riders come in from Kerrville, whether they live there or are coming off I 10, and they use 16 or 173 to get them to where they can access the Sisters Region.

39 is scenic and has some really good curvy sections. I sometimes take an afternoon ride up 16 and over to 39 and come back down 187.

There are quite a few overlooked, but good, roads out here that go unused as almost everyone just goes out on 337.
 
I see that a number of the most captivating, magnetic and photogenic riders are posted on TX MOTO FOTO. Dot com.

Some Aprilia HAM got himself included also.

If you're gonna harass the Harley riders into exceeding 20 MPH, you don't get yer pitcher taken.

Just got back home to Tomball (just north of Houston). I had a grand total of 1,039 miles. I had a blast. It was a pleasure to meet so many genuinely nice folks that share such a specific interest.
