Official YZF Makeover Thread

I guess I'll go downstairs and hang out in the garage for an hour or so. This waiting is a B&T@H! The sun is shining and the rain should hold out until much later giving me plenty of time to get the old girl home! Tomorrow the tail section gets tweaked back to where it should be, clutch bled, and bodywork reinstalled!! Tuesday comes insurance and registration and Wednesday comes THE FIRST RIDE!!!

Stay tuned later for some pics and video! I'm outta here!!!

I'm back!!!!!

I'm still a little bit in shock after hearing the YZF running over at Ivan's place this morning. What can I say?, the man knows his Yamahas! I'd like to thank him again for yet another job well done. The R1 jet kit was just what the bike needed. I have to say I was amazed when he arrived. We walked in, he opened the back garage door, set the bike to full choke, turned the key and hit the starter. She immediately fired up to a music making growl. God's honest truth, not 10 seconds passed when he flipped the choke "off" and she settled instantly to a beautiful "purr". Not a stumble, hic-cup, stammer, nothing! Whack the throttle and she roared. Let off and she instantly settled back to a lovely purr! That was after 10 seconds running. He said it was even smoother after she warms up! Amazing! I am so stoked you can't believe! If Irene wasn't my favorite cousin, I'd cancel dinner and be downstairs in the garage! Haha! Anyway, I have to cook so here is your video clip............

Richie made good use of the Harbor Freight Trailer since we were a half hour early to Ivan's.

And here is the video. This was taken literally 5 seconds after starting the bike cold. Even the FZ1 didn't run this good cold. The temp was about 54 degrees this morning.
